Saturday, March 10, 2012 8:17:27 PM I'm trying to figure out the "progressive mind". They want the U.S. military out of Iraq, out of Afghanistan, and IN to Uganda? |

Saturday, March 10, 2012 7:14:07 AM So they scam hippies out of thier money, not surprising. As for the awareness part, you have to start somewhere, he's being hypocritical by his own standards, is he now going to hop on a plane and try to kill him, I highly doubt it. |

Saturday, March 10, 2012 7:08:48 AM "They said their one and only goal was to stop Kony. How is donating 2 million to military forces who are hunting Kony not supporting their only stated goal? People are stupid. " Because people are donating money to 'save' child soldiers and children being sexually exploited. And the organisation they are donating to is giving the money to people who are raping, looting and using in the pasts (and even perhaps in the present) child soldiers. hypocrisy much? |

Saturday, March 10, 2012 6:16:30 AM This whole Kony 2012 thing, highlighting Kony's forcing children to become soldiers, the investigation of the motives behind the Kony video, etc, etc, etc has lead me to a new appreciation for all the levels and meanings to the phrase "not your personal army..." |

Saturday, March 10, 2012 3:49:06 AM I did a walk and slept in a park for invisible children in 2005 for the same sh't. But i was too high to remember what happened, I just know I ate tacos and drove half way to the park because I was too high to walk. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 10:02:18 PM Invisible Children came to my university last fall. It was mandatory for all freshman, but I got extra credit to go. So, I went. I saw through their ploy to get my money and I called it a "two hour advertisement". The most touching part of, what I can assume is their 11th video, was when the featured American died in a bombing in Uganda, or wherever he was in Africa. If it weren't for the guy who left in the middle of the presentation, I was the second person out of the building. My current girlfriend wasn't as smart. She bought a $25 bracelet that is claimed to be made by a woman in Africa. Now that's how they labeled it, but couldn't help thinking if was a sweatshop. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 8:32:50 PM So, what the guy who made this video is trying to say is any money you might have donated went exactly where they said it would go? They said their one and only goal was to stop Kony. How is donating 2 million to military forces who are hunting Kony not supporting their only stated goal? People are stupid.

Friday, March 09, 2012 8:03:03 PM "Invisible Children" sounds like a great name for a PMC specializing in kidnapping and black-baggery. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 4:26:07 PM their overall score is a 3 because of their Financial score is a 4 their Accountability & Transparency score (which is more important if you ask me and what I think he was actually referring to) is only a 2.....they average out at a 3 see via Charity Navigator link |

I don't recall hearing them say they raise money to give to africans. They raise money, and spend it, to raise awareness so the governments will get involved and put a stop to it. So if the mission is to spend money....Mission Accomplished. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 3:10:17 PM Contrarians < Been waiting for a vid like this to come out since the Kony thing started just so they can say "ya and that's why I don't donate/give/participate" Good luck to you and your armchair. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 1:17:52 PM We know other groups to do lobbying (eg Greenpeace). It's their job to spend the money on making films, propaganda... They may overestimate figures, which their opponents might underestimate... to influence us to put their cause on our priority list. That's what lobbying is about. Go to Washington or Brussels. There you can find thousands of those guys defending a cause for people who pay them, to make it into some politician's action plan. I am not able to analyze "invisible children"'s finances and to decide whether it's good or bad. But to try to get a government to bring to justice Joseph Kony seems a noble cause to me. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 1:00:17 PM The argument that only ~30% actually goes to helping is weak, because one of the ways they help is by awareness (which = more money and more action) which costs a lot. But, I've heard that Kony hasn't even been seen since 2008 and that he may already be dead, and that killing him isn't going to stop anything. So I'm torn on the issue. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 12:22:18 PM Why am I not surprised that a lot of people got suckered into donating to this ? Could it be that most people don't their homework and actually educate themselves ? It's very likely. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 10:22:30 AM If you want to say a charity has only a 2 out of four star rating then don't show a screen shot WITH THREE OVERALL STARS ON IT. I'm may have a tendency not to believe anything else you say. |

Friday, March 09, 2012 9:16:31 AM The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Sometimes you have to get into bed with a lesser evil to fight a bigger one. You have to think, when Kony is dead, who will these organizations go after next? Yup. The lesser evil who used to be allies. |
