Sunday, March 11, 2012 2:29:30 PM Yeah @HiEv, reminded me of those too. Also the "Satanic Cult" garbage that went around for a decade or so. Lunacy, disguised as "science". |

Sunday, March 11, 2012 2:27:11 PM So a bunch of men spent years behind bars because someone accused them of horrible things with no evidence at all? Sad, pathetic even. |

Sunday, March 11, 2012 10:47:49 AM Ahhh I always knew there was something off about Wilford Brimley. "Bestiality, rape, murder and diabetes can take a lot out of a man, but Quaker Oats sticks with you all day" |

"I hate it when they don't tell you {in great, lurid detail} what the actual crimes are they're acused of. " Please tell me you guys are being smartasses. The alleged crimes were against children. |

Taiwanese and Hong Kong Chinese language newspapers are great for that. That's how the NMATV was invented. They wanted to explain in inappropriate detail a situation they didn't have video footage for. |

Saturday, March 10, 2012 5:04:30 PM This reminds me of all of those false memory cases from the late 80s and early 90s. People were put in jail and families were wrecked due to ridiculous accusations by people given "recovered-memory therapy". In the end it turned out that the psychologists had just basically talked people into believing bizarre fantasies, that had little or no basis in reality. Now, I'm not saying weird creepy stuff doesn't happen, but after seeing the overturned cases in the past, I need more than just personal testimonies, I need concrete evidence. It sounds like this case doesn't have any. If you're interested in this topic, see if you can find any of the stuff by Elizabeth Loftus. She literally wrote the book on eyewitness testimony and the myths of repressed memories. |

Saturday, March 10, 2012 3:40:03 PM Hmm, sounds fishy. I have never heard of a prosecuter that passes up on a sensational case. And that would have it in spades. |
