Saturday, March 10, 2012 8:04:31 PM Ah, I see the terrorists - in fear of our superior airport scanning technologies - have activated one of their sleeper agents to begin a grass-roots dis-information campaign! ;) We must not let the terrorists win - to Guantanamo with them all... and all of their friends, who obviously are terrorists... and anyone they associated with (they could be contacts)... or anyone who watches their videos... Excuse me, some Homeland Security officers are knocking at my door. I wonder what they could want. BRB. |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 8:42:03 PM Patchgrabber: The Isreali model is impossible to use in America because of the sensitivity toward racial profiling. Nice try, though. The American airline industry is very sensitive to the economy, so they would never do anything to discourage people from flying. My only question is, how does this body scanner not discourage people from flying? I'm extremely uncomfortable going through those things knowing that somewhere in a back room someone's seeing me naked. But I still fly. What is wrong with us? |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 11:32:46 AM oh my god the american government is the "threat" you're all terrified of. Terrorism = using fear in the pursuit of political gain. They tell you the big scary terrorists are coming to get you for no reason other then because you live in the USA, you throw money at the government and let them take all of your rights so they can make the "problem" go away. |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 9:09:49 AM So I agree with a lot of what he says. However, "no one has boarded a plane with explosives in over 40 years"? Did he miss the Underwear Bomber in Detroit on Christmas in 2009? The guy had plastic explosives, was able to board and fly on the plane, and attempted to detonate his explosives very near the end of his flight, over Detroit. |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 6:56:35 AM Randomize the background colors and have people inspected at different angles. Big deal. Privatize airport security? What a crock. |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 6:28:48 AM These body scanners are just another example of the smoke-and-mirrors that is North American airport security. The key for them is to find a balance of "security" and not hassling passengers to the point where they'll stop buying tickets. The procedures and security for TSA, CATSA, etc. are laughable for the most part, and only really give people the impression that they actually do anything. I could tell someone at least 5 ways to get a bomb on an airplane in Canada, none of which involve even getting on the airplane. Crakr is correct, the Israeli model is by far the most secure and it works. Why? Because they aren't afraid to offend people's delicate sensibilities and they profile the people themselves, rather than try to find the items the people are using. |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 4:36:14 AM Really Drawman? I'd say (no offence to anyone) most of what I hear is that people think America is the most paranoid in the world. Your constitution is being torn apart and most people are just like "Well heck never mind I suppose. The government says it's best so we'll all just have to deal with it wont we?" Like the comment earlier of "Just take a train" Ok cool so no one leaves or enters America now? Because I can't get from England to you by train and neither can you travel to me via train. Sure people can travel in via Mexico but from what I hear people don't like that. Rather than kicking up a fuss a lot of people are just sitting placidly going "Well never mind I feel trapped in my own country i'll just put myself out because airports suck." Or we could all just use boats again I suppose? Fun week long boat trips. |

Thursday, March 08, 2012 12:16:20 AM doesn't that scanner scan around you 360 degrees? ok, the whole thing is stupid. does anyone actually believe the 'trust us, we'll keep you safe' line? anyone who really really wants to cause destruction, will be able to and no one can stop it. if we're ever in that situation, which is less likely than getting hit by lightning, then we all just step up and wrestle the guy down - and if you failed, sorry bro, it was your time. but this foolproof way to keep you safe (we're going to see you naked, feel up your wife, and make you do whatever stupid poo else we can think of) is for the birds. safety can never be guaranteed, and we should be ok with that. |

Wednesday, March 07, 2012 5:46:32 PM You guys may not like to hear it but as far as Europe are concerned (and I'm sure we're not alone) the US is considered the country to be most feared in the world. |

Wednesday, March 07, 2012 3:14:29 PM 50 years in jail for breaking the law @darkmagic14n: He never says he boarded an aircraft, he just went through security. The pocket was on the OUTSIDE of his shirt, not concealed. I agree with @LilianDulci, he didn't break any laws, the bad guys must have figured this out ages ago, this guy is a hero. Agreeing with @November_Rai too. |

Wednesday, March 07, 2012 3:09:39 PM Wow, I'm thinking "It CANNOT be that easy!" Then I remember: It's the US (and Canadian) governments, of course it can! Billions of taxpayer dollars down the drain, Grandmothers and children molested? Yay for the TSA! Good thing they didn't offend any Muslims, eh? Phew! Haha that would be bad. |

Wednesday, March 07, 2012 3:08:39 PM Gerry: Israel background checks everyone when they buy an airline ticket, long before they board an airplane, they find out what hotel/location they are going to, rental car/transportation, and yes they profile. It's worked too, there have been no bombing attempts or hijackings in decades. |
