@thelonius If I understand it correctly, that's not gas, but is actually plasma formed by the air being superheated as the projectile flies through it. |

The projectile flutters back and forth as it flys, would that be a step back in accuracy? Reminding me of smooth boar guns/cannons having the ball bouncing all the way down the firing chamber. |

@lorcan, while I agree that military spending is way out of bounds, this type of weapon system is significantly cheaper than traditional weapons not only R&D-wise, but especially considering the costs of the ammunition used as the projectiles are not explosives. And, with greater range. Read about it here. |

I think you have bad comparisons. One is for national defense I suppose, and the other is going against the constitution and pepper spraying innocent people. It is designed to kill, and if you think that being one of the worlds most powerful nations going gun-less and peaceful...well you won't have to worry about it because the nation that takes you over won't have that policy. |
