Sunday, March 04, 2012 4:45:26 AM OldOllie Yep, a cartoon about pokemon poking fun at those who don't get the basics of evolution (An aside- IRL a theory with a LOT more going for it evidence wise then creationism, but that is not relevant here, yet at least.) is totally an indication of a poor education system in real life.
(Are you kidding me?) |

Saturday, March 03, 2012 4:44:00 PM I think the fact that she cannot answer the question but can only manage a cliched facepalm instead is an indictment of our poo education system. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 1:45:30 PM "You are being a troll knowing people will disagree with your posts because you are implying the definitions are the same," i never once said that the definitions were the same...the only thing i'm trying to state here is that physical growth is a small part of evolution IN MY OPINION...again...i dont understand why it is so hard to understand english...unless YOU GUYS are the ones trolling ME... |

Friday, March 02, 2012 10:35:09 AM If you knew all this then your earlier posts are dishonest. You are being a troll knowing people will disagree with your posts because you are implying the definitions are the same, and then acting indignant when they voice their disagreement. Poor form. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 9:55:07 AM @lilli, not in the slightest. Either way, it's indestinguishable from a manner of mental retardation. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 9:38:12 AM Collegbound: Evolution 1. A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. See Synonyms at development. 2. a. The process of developing. b. Gradual development. 3. Biology a. Change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations, as a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species. b. The historical development of a related group of organisms; phylogeny. You are referring to the general definition (1 and 2), this post and most everyone else is talking about the scientific definition (3), they are 2 different things, don't get mad when people try and correct you for seemingly saying they are the same. Also the proposition that all beliefs are equal and therefore should be given equal respect is absolutely absurd. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 9:07:06 AM @collegebound. But have you looked at speciation? It's quite an interesting topic. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 9:01:04 AM actually on some standards adaptation to your environment is evolutionary, which can be done on the individual level by some aspects. Also the fundamentals of evolution as based mostly on the similarity between all living thing and progression, which ironically is also the fundamentals of reincarnation |

Friday, March 02, 2012 8:58:50 AM zombunny: the thing is that everyone experiences growth. like i said i understand that its not as extreme as others would like for it to be considered evolution. but im not "others" and to ME at least i can, if on barely, see that as a form of evolution. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 8:57:56 AM @CollegeBound " 2602 Posts Friday, March 02, 2012 8:31:12 AM sperm doesn't start off with arms and legs does it? neither does the egg that it fertilizes. im confident that one could classify that as evolution..." -- Seriously? Looks like you are bound for High School rather than college. For a good understanding of evolution it would be wise to look up a process called "speciation". |

Friday, March 02, 2012 8:51:14 AM @Collegebound, the problem with that is, like someone else already said, individual beings do not evolve. By definition, growing is not evolution. It's not a matter of belief. It's science. |

Friday, March 02, 2012 8:50:59 AM patchgrabber: I know what evolution is supposed to be and i recognize that...all im saying is that i consider growth, to a certain extent, part of evolution. if you don't like it then just dont believe in it...i dont care either way. |
