Wednesday, February 29, 2012 6:32:49 AM @McGovern1981 The thickness of the glass wherein the wine is kept for storage or decanting isn't of influence to the taste (if you are not a nitpicker that is). It's only the drinkingglass that has to be as thin as possible. It has to do with the contactarea when touching the glass with your lips. |

Wednesday, February 29, 2012 2:31:34 AM @ecstacy911 that's not true at all, you never have to pay for somebody dine and ditching. if you did, your work was taking advantage of you. @McGovern1981 i think you might have been dropped on your head as a kid. you don't put wine in a carafe.. it's called a decanter. stop talking about things you obviously don't know about. |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 12:17:04 PM @Johanvb And the wine bottle is made from what?? Oh ya common glass! I should mention it's a red so you see how stupid it is cause if you wanna be a wine snobus you'd put it in a carafe before complaining the glass isn't crystal. It's all really BS to get your money and give an excuse to act snobby cause the differences are laughable. |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 11:19:05 AM @McGovern1981 As for the glass thickness you can kid yourself into thinking you taste a difference but that's bulls**t *cough*, o and... O and about your remark on personal Hygiene, Now if you could just figure out how to use deoderant and toothpaste huh?? Hard to believe, but most Americans did not brush their teeth until Army soldiers brought their enforced habits of tooth brushing back home after World War II. |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 8:56:15 AM Even though this turned out to be a hoax, I want to say that it's never okay to leave no tip, and it's especially awful when you run out on your bill. I worked as a waitress for 3 years while attending uni in America. I made only $5 an hour, usually serving for 4 hours, and then cleaning and prepping for 2. Servers minimum wage works on the idea that we will be getting tips. On top of that, when people run out on their bill, guess who has to pay for it. Most corporate chains will cover 50% of the bill, but the rest has to be paid for by the server. I once went into work, and a huge sports team came in, got drunk and most of them left without paying, I ended actually paying to work that night. When you work in the service industry you truly see the worst side of humanity. |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 4:34:07 AM Interesting. Of course, the restaurant may also have good reason to cover for the banker, I'd like to see the "Future Ex Banker" come forward. |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 3:40:57 AM The news clip I saw never told the full story. We don't hear his side at all. Suppose the service was terrible? Are you saying we gotta tip 10 - 15% no matter what? If service sux 1% sounds just fine! |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 1:16:36 AM "The amount on the actual receipt is $33.54, Reagan said, not $133.54 as seen on the altered receipt. And while the tip on the online receipt claims that the server was left $1.33 (or one percent of the bill), the actual tip was more than $7 on the $33.54 tab." - From Enjin's link I know retract my earlier criticism. |

Tuesday, February 28, 2012 12:39:06 AM @McGovern1981 Aside from all the tourism stuff which is obviously difficult to measure we do get all the income from the royal estates which is more than the royal family cost us to keep so if we were to get rid of them we would lose all of that, and let's be honest, Britain are pretty good at paying for all the people who can't/don't/won't work, and for everyone to go to the doctors, now wouldn't that be nice? |

Monday, February 27, 2012 6:53:42 PM ...and if all the wait staff got "real jobs", the rich douche-bag wouldn't have a restaurant to eat his 100$ meal in. Ffs.... |

Monday, February 27, 2012 6:44:50 PM i work for a living and i always tip well. i think its only fair, as i wouldn't like to work on my feet all day and i certainly don't like to take care of pricks and asses who go out of their way to make my life miserable, all while maintaining a fake smile on my face. i hope the banker drowns in his own martini-tinged vomit, hopefully some time soon. |

Monday, February 27, 2012 5:50:46 PM and I'll reiterate most wait staff make under $3 a hour before tips, albeit they employer must make up the difference. proof |

Monday, February 27, 2012 5:44:00 PM you seem to be complaining quite a bit right now... I wouldn't tip the person stocking groceries, but my wife tips the man who brings them to her car and put them in for her... and why would I tip a fast food server they don't bring it to my table, get me refills they take my order thats it, I tip a taxi driver if I feel he deserves it, but I wouldn't tip a bus driver for driving his route |

Monday, February 27, 2012 5:21:37 PM No one really addressed my point. You don't tip the guy stocking shelves at the store, you don't tip the guy at the concession stand at the theater, you don't tip the people working fast food. It's against the law for anyone to be payed under minimum wage, so it's not like you aren't getting paid by the hour. WHY are waiters any more special than them? Without tips, they get paid about the same, restaurants aren't the only place workers have to deal with jerks. What makes you deserve tips over those people? You're still doing entry level work just like they are. It has nothing to do with being stingy, i just think if people are gonna tip waiters, then why not everyone else? They work hard too. The problem is that you all get so many tips that you expect a f.ucking handout from every customer, then if they don't tip enough you cry about it. I get paid s.hit and work hard, but do I get tips? No. Do I complain? No. F.uck you. |

Monday, February 27, 2012 1:15:25 PM Happy to see that Europe has learned to use utensils to eat their food. Now if you could just figure out how to use deoderant and toothpaste huh?? It was an example fine dining dosen't have to mean making an entire night out of it we have the ability to plan ahead unlike you. |

Monday, February 27, 2012 1:11:22 PM @Johanvb You know what else is good etiquette not being a pompus ass. As for the glass thickness you can kid yourself into thinking you taste a difference but that's bulls**t a wine taster I knew with this job said first hand it's 95% bulls**t. You're paying a premium for bull but can't afford to tip talk about an elitist snob. |

Monday, February 27, 2012 1:03:22 PM Wow... what an asswad. Always tip your food service workers, hair stylists, makeup artists, tattoo artists, valets, baggage carriers, etc. Jobs pay a certain amount knowing you'll usually receive a tip. Yes people live off of them. Grr. |
