Sunday, February 26, 2012 11:20:31 AM She is hot, and racing cars makes her hotter. I will not dig into the complexities of any situation she might be in trying to race, I will just look at her and be pleased. |

Sunday, February 26, 2012 10:50:58 AM I really couldn't care less about racing, but this doesn't seem to be a fair assessment. From what I've read about her, she's a top-rated auto racer - not THE top, but near the top. That doesn't seem to me to be 'mediocre. "Mediocre relative to others in the same category" is probably what they meant. She's good enough to race at the highest level, but she's not good enough to win championships or even races. She won a race once. That's not much of a record, is it? If you compare her against people in general, she's outstandingly brilliant. Put her and the average person in the street in identical cars on a track and the race would be a ludicrous mismatch. If you compare her against the top tier of professional racing drivers, she's mediocre. |

Sunday, February 26, 2012 10:36:25 AM Are we really going to have this stream of non-racers throwing their completely baseless opinion of athleticism in motorsports out in public for people to laugh at? We are, aren't we? You don't need to be a racer to be able to do simple maths, nor do you need to be a racer to be able to read material on the effect of g-forces on humans. So what is your point? |

Sunday, February 26, 2012 10:34:12 AM Your information isn't wholly accurate. Firstly, "up to 3g" is just wrong. The max G's on the banks can exceed 5 So why did every source I could find state "up to 3g"? Some even gave calculations showing different tracks to illustrate the point that slower tracks can result in higher g-forces because the turns are tighter. I suppose I could find the data for several nascar tracks and calculate the g-forces myself. F1 is without a doubt about getting tackled by a linebacker over and over again throughout the course of a football game. It requires a certain amount of pain threshold, and the physique to get back up. Nascar is as close to soccer as americans will allow. It IS a slow burn. Good point. A Nascar race takes roughly twice as long as an F1 race, so endurance is more of a factor. |

Sunday, February 26, 2012 5:55:34 AM I have respect for women like Shirley Muldowney and Janet Guthrie. They did it in a much more difficult time and didn't have to slut it up to get over. |

Sunday, February 26, 2012 4:58:37 AM burbclaver: "She's right. We should use an adjective that describes her abilities as an athlete not as a sex object. How about "mediocre"?" I really couldn't care less about racing, but this doesn't seem to be a fair assessment. From what I've read about her, she's a top-rated auto racer - not THE top, but near the top. That doesn't seem to me to be 'mediocre. Now, you could argue that this isn't athletic - but I'll let others debate this. |

Sunday, February 26, 2012 12:01:55 AM "So why is it that, because a female athlete is in a go-daddy commercial, shaking her ass and with half naked supermodels behind her, that she must be described as sexy??" /facepalm |

Saturday, February 25, 2012 8:31:53 PM what a joke the only reason she is racing is cause she is "sexy". As far as being an athlete.. if you consider a bowler or golfer an athlete then ya she is one. I don't |

Saturday, February 25, 2012 6:59:08 PM And you're right, I misused velocity. I meant momentum as the stock cars can exceed three times the weight of an F1. |

Saturday, February 25, 2012 6:56:43 PM Your information isn't wholly accurate. Firstly, "up to 3g" is just wrong. The max G's on the banks can exceed 5, and while rapidly shifting 6g's in short periods can do a number on your brain and spine, they don't have the same effect as 20 second long 5g's have on your muscular system. F1 is without a doubt about getting tackled by a linebacker over and over again throughout the course of a football game. Saturday, February 25, 2012 6:47:29 PM "She's always got a chip on her shoulder." Yeah, because people like YOU only refer to her as sexy when you're talking about her abilities as a professional race car driver. I'm sure if you called her a sexy spokesperson for GoDaddy, she'd be fine with it. But you call her pretty and sexy when she's trying to win a race, and she has a problem with that. |

Saturday, February 25, 2012 6:46:56 PM Well, I guess her tomboyish face turns some guys on. But that's ok. She has that kind of look where you know she either got her dad's looks or she has a brother that looks a lot like her. So you go to pick her up for a date and her brother answers the door and you're stopped for a moment wondering what equipment is under her hood. No, not that hood. |
