Thursday, February 23, 2012 12:08:21 PM Sounds to me like he's trying to teach a bunch of gutter rats who don't give a damn. They should just expel the lot of them. |

Thursday, February 23, 2012 7:29:43 AM "You can't make eye contact with me, that's illegal." ...what? what the fu-...what state are you in? this video only tells me that the kid didn't want to be in that class...like any other normal child...he got in the students face then spat on him then the student spat back on him...why is this even a discussion of who was the wrongest? clearly it was the teacher... |

Thursday, February 23, 2012 2:12:35 AM That sort of behaviour by a student shouldn't be tolerated at all. If it wasn't, it wouldn't have gotten to this stage. Swearing at a teacher? Seriously? Also, the teacher sounded like the love child of Ray Romano and Jerry Seinfeld. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 10:12:58 PM The teacher's behavior is part of what cause the kid to act that way. It was unacceptable to talk to the kids as if they are stupid, and then threaten an individual with jail. Even without the touching or spitting, this is wrong. The kid, however, shouldn't be such a brat either. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 5:31:10 PM The kid should have been dragged out in the street, shot, and pinned to the wall as an example of why you shouldn't be a dumb ass. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 3:38:52 PM Apparently this is from Beach Channel High School special education wing where the NYC dumps under age gang thugs until they are of age and can be expelled. Most of the "students" are court ordered to attend school or face juvenile detention. It's just sad and pathetic waste to see people wasting away especially at such a young age. I feel for the teacher who apparently in a 3 year grade "F" school taught a honers math class and brought a math club to a national competition. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 3:05:14 PM That teacher kept saying the kid is going to go to jail, but the teacher touched the kid as much as the kid touched him, not to mention the spitting. Anyway, high school needs to be separated, allowing only people who want to go to the second part to go, while the dumb kids who want to drop out can just go straight into work that their destined for anyway. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 2:28:32 PM drating stupid kids. The teacher should have called the office and had someone remove him, though. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 2:00:31 PM Aaaaah, sorry Buiadh--you didn't specify that in you original comment, so I assumed you were talking about the teacher's reaction. I agree with you now :) |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 1:32:19 PM @PsychGeek, I made my comment based on the youths pissing about rather than learning. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 1:11:35 PM "Meh, you can't teach those unwilling to learn. Send him to the principal." In the US the main office only wants to hear about anything that will threaten other students (ie. guns and knives). A referral for any other reason only paints a picture of an incompetent teacher for not being in control of their classroom. "America, this is why you're stupid." Exactly. Here in the US the general belief surrounding high school has changed from practicality to 'all kids will be college material when they graduate.' Students like that are bored of being forced to go to school everyday for a future that isn't cut out for them, they are allowed to fail in the system without consequence, and they know it. Thus teachers are having to spend large amounts of time and energy tending to one or two kids (who shouldn't be there) instead of being able to teach. On a side-note... that kid was high as a kite. |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 12:23:46 PM @ Buiadh: hush, you have no idea what you're talking about. this video does not highlight the problem with the education system as a whole---the teacher was obviously trying to help the kid, but he was too busy showing off and being a "tough guy" for his friends. Our education system sucks, but this guy was getting understandably irritated (I don't condone it, but the kid was an ass). |

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 11:46:15 AM The teacher is at fault here. It doesn't matter if the kid put his hands on him first or not. The teacher made it a physical altercation by getting in the kid's face and intimidating him. Completely out of line. |
