Maybe if the dumbass didn't ride in the middle of the road, then actually have the gaul to move right when being overtaken, the bus driver wouldn't have put him in his place.

Bikes do not have the same rights as cars. Bikes are to stay on the side, not ride down the center. But go ahead, challenge the cars all you want. I'm sure "being in the right" will be a great comfort to your widow. |

I've certainly felt like running over cyclists whilst driving but I've always managed to stop myself - I'm super restrained when it comes to attempted murder and the like. |

A bus driver in the United Kingdom has been jailed for 17 months for going full Mario Kart on the cyclist pedaling ahead of him. Accidents happen, right? Yeah, this was no accident. This is straight up assault. Fortunately, the judge thought so too. |

No. Roads are for vehicles, footways are for pedestrians. It's actually illegal to ride a bike on a footway here, as well it should be.
Hence the "should be" as opposed to "is".
Also, It is not illegal to ride on the sidewalk where I live. |

If a bike can go the speed limit, fine. If not, the cyclist should be ticketed for impeding the flow of traffic, just like a car could if they did 8 mph in a 40 mph zone. |

What evidence do we have that the cyclist antagonised the bus driver?
Don't we just know that they had a previous "altercation"?
Surely that means it's equally possible that it was the bus driver antagonising the cyclist.
Just a thought. |

Biker had a previous altercation with bus driver, then tried to prove a point by riding directly in front of bus.
Stupid dick.
Bus driver lost self control and de-railed biker.

I give bikers credit for picking a healthy way to get to work. But many do project a holier-than-thou attitude toward drivers AND pedestrians that doesn't win bike riders many friends. |
