letting it into the wild is the worst possible thing to do, i'd find out if there is some weird exotic animal license like they have with other weird pets |

Releasing it would be worse than keeping it, if they are that worried about it breading and taking over the area from native creatures. Specially since they found it in the area, so they are already spreading. |

I had sever red squirrels as pets over the years. They are very fun. If you take them on your shoulder near wild ones, they will also run up you to see whats going on. |

Grey squirrels nearly wiped out all the native squirrels in the UK, so I can understand them not wanting it around. That said... it would be nicer if they just neuter it since it became a pet. |

Weeeell, really sweet, but I hope the little guy ends up ok- that cage is not very strong against a persistant predator- and if they move away the little chap will have to go along with them or risk his friendly trusting way with humans bringing him to harm... |
