So Steve Jobs was a modern day Thomas Edison. Not creating new technology but simply improving already establish tech and then taking credit for it.

Edison was scum, but he was smart. This film was fair I think.
He had a team of 'inventors' who worked 9-5 'inventing' things like the electric pen. |

He also electrocuted an Elephant using AC power to try to scare people into only using DC. In the long run, people wanted to save money with AC.. |

A lot of people here in the US think Ford invented the automobile.
Hardly their fault. Kids aren't taught who made the first cars. They're taught how significant Ford was in developing the assembly line and little to nothing more than that. When one snippet is all you are taught of a larger history, what hope does a person have of knowing much of anything. |

@I-IS-BORED:
(1) Merriam-Webster Collegiate (11/e) has "lightbulb" as one word, so Kitteh has it correct. (I've worked as a professional copyeditor, so don't even start.)
(2) If you're going to get all persnickety on grammar, you should be capping your proper nouns.
(3) I didn't know Edison didn't invent the lightbulb (or if I did know, I'd forgotten it): concluding that my education system "has failed me" might be overstating it just a little, don't you think? |
