Wednesday, February 08, 2012 8:42:42 AM If I may offer my opinion on the rugby v american football tackle debate. I think if you're referring to single big hits then american football takes it. This is down to a couple of rule variations and the way the game is played. In rugby you can't dive into a tackle and you must attempt to bind, where as in american football you can just throw your shoulder into a man. Also in football you know that the man you're about to tackle won't pass the ball which mean you can commit 100% to the hit. This said as far as I can see 95% of the hits in football are no bigger than an average rugby tackle. In fact sometimes the player in possession won't even take the tackle and throw themselves to the ground like a soccer player. Also they wear quite a lot of padding compared to rugby, most rugby players only have their jersey to soften the blow. For these reasons I would say at the top end the hits are bigger in american football, but the average tackle hurts more in rugby. |

Wednesday, February 08, 2012 12:38:42 AM emmettyville dont you know they hit a lot harder than those players. That is why they have pads and helmets. Myst buster did a show on who hits the hardest and football player won the challenge. |

Tuesday, February 07, 2012 3:09:42 PM If I A. Watched/cared about the Superbowl B. Watched/cared about Jimmy Kimmel I think it would have been funnier to turn the T.V. off during the Puppybowl. |

Tuesday, February 07, 2012 2:14:48 PM The guy at 2:40 really cracked me up- he could barely get his fat ass out of his chair- I can just picture him with a bowl of snacks and his beer perched on either side of his big gut, so all he has to do is tip one or the other in his fat face. |

Tuesday, February 07, 2012 12:51:25 PM The entire game I was out, I came back home and watched the last 5 minutes of it, and didn't miss anything. My time was better spent doing other things, rather than watching an over-hyped game with overpaid players and overpriced seats. I do find it hilariously funny though how corporations bid on 30 second time slots like its the New York Stock Exchange. Other than M.I.A.'s middle finger, nothing was missed and not a single s#it was given that day. |

Tuesday, February 07, 2012 12:41:12 PM "how come those guys wear all the helmets and big shoulder pads?" I've watched a lot of rugby. I challenge you to find the hardest rugby hit period last year. I find ten harder, JUST in the superbowl, with the majority being magnitudes harder. Rugby hits are rarely much more beyond fast paced walking speed. Football hits lead to the victim doing mid-air 360 somersaults. Before the pads and helmets, yeah, football had weeny hits like in rugby. The "protective" equipment were specifically added so they can go that much harder. Take 30 punches from Pacquiao without his gloves on. Now try and take 5 with them on. |

Tuesday, February 07, 2012 9:59:09 AM I feel sorry for all you poor saps who refuse to admit football is massively entertaining to watch. For men, no other sport has as many "this is how that SHOULD have happened if I had any say." in as short a period. For women, Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel, Wes Welker, and Matt Forte. |

SuperBowl, or as it's known in the gay community "Lesbian High Holy Day" is way over-rated. All anyone watches it for is the half time show and the awesome adverts. It's kinda sad when the best part of something is the commercial interuptions.
