While you do have the right to record the police, do you need to upload it to youtube? If there is a case use it as evidence, but pasting it all over the internet?
As a side note; protect and serve, yes but lawfull citizens, not criminals. Im not however defending police brutality with that statement, just posting a thought.
Another thought, the police and other athourities are just humans and will make mistakes, but they should be held accountable for those mistakes as they hold greater athority over others.

Well we certainly need law enforcement because unfortunately there is always that one phucktard that ruins it for everybody. On another note, they put cameras on every street corner now days but now its almost a crime to film a public servant. They get all hot and bothered, which basically gives away a guilty conscious. Public Servant: look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, "Am I going to be a filthy scumbag fascist today?" Would you like me to put my knee in your back and twist your arms. How about some pepper spray? Can I come over and kick your door in and arrest your family and maybe shoot your family pet? How do you like to be the person that nobody likes?

The first clip of this video, the Carls Jr. shooting, shouldn't be on here. That was a completely justified shooting. The rest of the videos however, were disgusting.

There not cops there thugz with badges. One video like that and the officer would be sacked here. How can he get away with hitting that guy in the leg with the baton.

I'm surprised people aren't shooting police officers on sight.

I guess my experience with the police has been less positive than ya'lls.

My dad was the town sherrif for a while when I was a kid. Needless to say I was brought up in a home where law enforcement were respected, trusted. But my interaction with police as an adult has made me distrustful of them. Complete turnaround from the way I was raised and due entirely to their poor conduct.

@Gerry1of1 - innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply to the process of being detained, it applies to your sentence and to what length you will be held, a police officer can not throw you in jail for X amount of years at his own free will.

If a person does something against the law and deceides that they don't want to go to jail so they run, refuse the officer or fight the officer, Etc then YES police then do have the ability to use force, yes a FEW take this step way too far, but a majority do not.

Gerry: I've been homeless before and have lived in 'low-income' parts of a few towns. I've never seen or even heard of the police acting badly, no matter where it was. In fact it's been the other way around, suspects injuring and even killing police officers.

And before you accuse me of being a 'goody two-shoes', I have been arrested a few times, nothing felonious, traffic warrants mostly and one fight, but have never been treated badly.
One officer even followed me home, let me put away my groceries, so they wouldn't spoil, and never even put me in cuffs. Why ? because I was courteous, friendly, didn't cuss, and never raised my voice.

@ illios - so if a person is arrested, the police have a right to put them in the hospital? A guilty person deserves to be beaten? I thought the courts determined 'guilt'. You know, that 'innocent until proven guilty' thing. If the cops hand out the punnishment, by wother with courts at all?

@Gerry1of1 - I used to live in a crap part of town, there was a lot of crime, and people were killed on a daily basis, I've also been nearly hit by cross fire, and I still agree with Crakrjak.

If people were so innocent as people here would like to believe then cops wouldn't been needed, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.

This video was made to make cops looks bad, pure and simple and people see it and make the assumption that "all cops are like this" fine, now go make video of every murder, every shooting, every rape, every assault and we'll just say "all people are like this"

So, your fear is based on ignorance

You missed this part:

I know that the vast majority of police officers are not like this

Dagaz20-"because there are individuals like this working the force, that my initial reaction of law enforcers is one of fear... "

So, your fear is based on ignorance, or your 'logic' leads you to be in fear of everyone you meet.
A few cops abuse their position, so your initial reaction of law enforcers is fear.
A few men rape and abuse women, so your intial reaction of men is fear.
A few dogs bite people,so your initial reaction of dogs is fear.
A few women are murders, so your initial reaction of women is fear.
A curling iron can burn, so your initial reaction of technology is fear.

Tell us, how does it feel to live your life in fear?

If your initial reaction to mena, dogs, women & technology is not fear, then your fear of cops is based on ignorance and/or what you see on tv.

@ CrakrJak - Your innocent perspective is my 'Awww of the day'!!
Let me guess, you are a white, heterosexual, middle class male?
No, I don't suppose you do see it every day.
In other parts of town, you can see it more than once a day. Some cities are worse than others, of course.

Now show all the film (and there is a lot of it) showing officers protecting the public, or doing things in self or other defense. This shows the bad...now, show the good.

Once again I have to point out, not all cops are like this. It is only a handful. Just like not all priests are pedophiles, not all Germans are Nazi's, and so on.
Granted, this video, and others like it, show a terrible side of police officers but that's because this is the stuff that makes news. No one would get upset if it showed them responding to an emergency call where a home invasion just happened or a ticket is being issued. They're doing a tough job that HAS to be done. They deserve our respect and our cooperation.
That said, they also need to have someone watching them as well for the rare times when they do get out of hand.
Oh, and Fleaman1797. You are way out of line with that rhetoric. I truly hope the IAB mods ban you for your comments.

Crakrjak - Considering there are tens of thousands of police arrests per day, in America, and the vast majority happen without incident, there are very very few, per day, that require the police to use any force at all.

These sort of incidents do NOT 'happen daily' as the narrator claimed. Many times the camera doesn't catch the suspects actions that provoked the police reaction.

Sometimes the police do go overboard, but it's a rare occasion. This video tries to smear all police with the same brush and that's unfair.

As for Fleaman1797, You do that, I'll laugh my ass off when then people you hate most take you down.

If you're a police officer, doing your job right, you should have no issue with someone filming. That ANY percentage of the populace are afraid of the police, to me, is unacceptable.

I remember when I was a teenager, when a student told an officer that he was always scared and nervous when police were around. The officer looked at him kindly and said "If you aren't doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about." I guess it works both ways, yes?

CrakrJak, thank you for being one of the few people on here with common sense. People don't have to like the cops (I don't) but still respect that they get crap pay for a dangerous job. And before anyone says 'That's what they signed up to do', realize that saying also applies to gas station clerks getting robbed, taxi driver's getting in wrecks, fast food workers getting burned, and teachers getting beat up by kids. 'It's all part of the job', though a very small part that we all know will happen.
