Friday, February 03, 2012 9:24:22 PM notice that it was only a small group of kids who didnt know the answers. Im sure the majority of who they asked did know the answers. You have to be careful with clips like this. They only show you what they want (just like the media) |

Friday, February 03, 2012 9:10:17 PM These are the results of putting sports on a pedestal. That or picking what to show. Take note world. Notes for what? Have you seen European football where a celebration kills 100s or a riot kills thousands all over a win or loss. I hardly think we put sports on as high a pedestal as that. It's because we spend more on war than education and even more-so because parents have next to nothing to do with their kids anymore and don't help and push their kids to make something of themselves. As long as they leave mommy and daddy alone they could care less if TV, PC, Console games, Lil Wayne, and disgruntled, underpayed, undersupplied teachers at understaffed, underfunded schools do all of it (or little of it) for them. Then when the kids fail out (much to their surprise of course) they blame it on everyone else or on liberals, conservatives, dems, GOP, gays, blacks, or the Nazis. So long as they don't blame themselves any. |

Friday, February 03, 2012 9:02:24 PM Liberals have taken over our education system, and this is what they've done with it -- created a bunch of ignorant, mind-numbed sheeple who will grow up to be loyal Democrats voters. If you believe this you are drating retarded right along with the countless Democrats who say this poo about republicans. I contest that the deeper rooted problem is that crooked politicians do whatever the drat they like regardless of voters because they are too busy being good sheep arguing amongst themselves and blaming anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with them for everything that's bad. Democrat/Republican, two sides to the same drated up coin keeping stupid drats like you pointing fingers instead of fighting back. United we stand Divided we fall. -Aasop |

Friday, February 03, 2012 6:28:35 PM My American wife couldn't answer these questions. I guess people only know stuff that's relevant to them. If you had asked what's the largest chamber of the heart? I am sure there'd have been fewer wrong answers. Also, it's biased reporting for laughs; they filtered for wrong answers to compile. So the students were overwhelmingly correct. Except the blonds, who seemed to feature heavily. |

Friday, February 03, 2012 4:40:32 PM FeelTheRide, Are you naked in your pic? lol. Back to the video -- This is an old Leno bit and extends much further from the halls of high schools. I wouldn't put too much stock into it. I love history, but I know not everyone does. It's funny though. |

Friday, February 03, 2012 3:40:52 PM Wait a second @NNoamfer...you don't think knowing who the VP is or knowing the war that we gained our independence was or HOW MANY STATES THERE ARE is basic knowledge for an American?!? I understand you are not an American...but these are things that are taught in American Elementary Schools. On another note I think this can be explained pretty easily. Kids are not taught...they are shown answers to basic questions and expected to memorize them for tests. As soon as the test is over so is the retention. Schools want their students to pass so they get more funding. If schools were given funding not based on pass rate I don't think this would be as much of a problem. I really hope I can afford to send my future children to private school. Which I honestly don't think would be much better. |
