Aaahhh, I see...thanks hobyandy for clarifying for me. Still think people get too worked up over things they can't change, though.

I haven't shopped at walmart since they stopped taking discover card actually. And, I don't care if people are just learning about the problem now, point is they are learning. Honestly, if you truely knew how your food was grown, you'd probably become a vegitarian. If people learn, and it changes them, that's a good thing. And it's ok that people are pissed, it makes you think. Too many people in this country don't think, they go to McDonalds and Walmart cuz they're lazy, and then complain to the government when they're fat and poor. Lazy asses, spend the extra 2 bucks and walk the extra 2 miles and take the extra 2 min to make your life better and more meaningful!

that was his point, talley. wally world censors all of it's products that aren't "family friendly". gizmo was saying they should be the ones to decide what should be sensored.

And if you think a big corporation can decide your or your families values, Gizmo, then you have bigger issues to deal with other than hating Wal-Mart...

What the Hell?! Why are so many people getting violent over this? It's just business and politics...it's probably never going to change...calm down

Not going to wal mart isn't going to make much of a difference in the world.
It's just the same as vegetarians not eating meat. Animals are still going to be killed, eaten, sold...
This world is a bad place, and if you really want to make a difference, become a doctor or something. You shouldn't just become an Anti Wal Mart freak, it solves nothing. But if you do, to each his own.
And it's not like most of you cared about this issue before you clicked on the link. I like wal mart. my husband and I go there for emergency food, or when all other stores are closed. It's a good place, even if it has some skeletons in the closet, but then again, what doesn't?

there's nothing wrong with wal-mart...if you ignore the fact that in spite of creating jobs, it also takes them away. it bankrupts small businesses, forcing people to shop there. and on top of that, they sell crappy stuff and censor the products they sell. it is not the place of a huge corporation to determine one's individual or family values for them. but yeah, other than that, there's nothing wrong with wal-mart.

I say it's just business. A lot of big name companies do the exact same thing. Why is Wal-Mart getting such a rap for this?

If you support walmart, you're not only supporting a lack of variety or quality in your life, you're also supporting some chinese working for $1 a day. But, hell, who wants to pay an extra 2 bucks for a tv, even if it means keeping jobs in this country. Sure it contributes to the deflating value of the dollar, but we're ok with that cuz, who wants to buy more expensive products from europe anyway? Cheaper products for you also means higher inflation, lower dollar value, and less jobs in this country.

And anyone who didn't watch the whole show shouldn't comment.

I agree that Target is better, but when you need that brillo pad, dish soap, gallon of flat white ceiling paint, and a box of Ho Ho's at 2 in the morning...aren't you glad Wal-Mart is there?

they just put up a wal mart in mexico right next to ancient ruins. way to bring tourists in - they can use the ruins site as an extra parking lot! so sad.

I live in a small town in a rural area, and I have to say, there are no more small businesses. We used to have a "quaint" historic downtown area, but since Wal Mart moved in, its a ghost town. I've also had the misfortune of working at Wal Mart in the past... I have never been treated with such disrespect by an employer. I've never talked to someone who worked at Wal Mart that wasn't miserable. I still shop there because, in all honesty, I can't afford not to. I don't have the money to drive an hour to shop in smaller stores every time I need something.

That is SO WEIRD, I just watched a documentary on CNBC or something about Wal-Mart today. Very interesting - I always knew I hated Wal-Mart, but now I know I really have good reason to.
