Couldn't have put it better. Funny how there is such a push for online bullying to be just as bad as face-to-face, yet our privacy, rights, and freedoms seem to only matter when you're not in front of a monitor. |

@Ginerio: Tor is ok for individual songs, but the decreased speed you have to put up with is unsuitable for large files like movies or whole albums. I do like Tor, it just has limitations. |

Yesterday (Feb 1st), two of the largest internet providers in the Netherlands were ordered by the Dutch government, under pressure from the organisation called BREIN (brain), to block access to all Pirate Bay websites. They cited the reason as being because "many users had downloaded music or movies in the last month, and we assume that if they download them, they uploaded them too, so that's illegal".
Apparently that's all the reasoning they needed. Also, after the initial few domains belonging to Pirate Bay were blocked, BREIN faxed the providers a longer list of domains that they had to block too, and didn't even need to first go through the legal system.
It's started. |
