Wednesday, January 25, 2012 12:28:46 PM My city's sister-city! Of all the towns in Colorado, ours has the highest concentration of Hispanic people as well. Which was pointed out on the softball episode of Southpark. I know it's not related, but I decided to share anyway. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 10:26:41 PM @jtrebowski Statistically speaking, Hispanic females are nearly 3 times more likely to give birth between the ages of 15-19, as opposed to -ahem- do I even need to say it? |

Monday, January 23, 2012 7:54:02 PM I can only assume that's what the downstairs neighbors are doing, as the children coming out of there seem to multiply every day. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 7:15:30 PM What you call trolling, I call dry sarcasm. "That's how science works!" C'mon, that's gold. I was absolutely not serious with any of my previous statements...except for the very first one. While it may be the most likely scenario that this girl was molested by an adult, it's not entirely outside of the realm of possibility that the father was another child. (Note: probably not that kid specifically) Thus, an investigation and identification of the father is in order. I don't know how the laws in Mexico work concerning statutory rape or age of consent...but the assumption that this pregnancy could only be the result of a rape might not be correct. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 6:34:52 PM "wow that would just destroy a girl that age, from a biological standpoint at least" I would imagine from a psychological standpoint as well. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 5:21:16 PM Do they really need to explain that they are investigating whether the girl was forcibly raped against her will or had sex of her own free will with the baby daddy, despite being too young to legally consent. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 4:12:40 PM @jendrian - the Huffington Post article lists the State's age of concent at 12. Mexico appears to have variable law regarding age of concent with Federal Law being over-ruled by some state laws. You are Mexican, so I don't pretend to be trying to tell you about your own country but based on what I have read up about it (because of this article) and supported by the Huffington Post article, it seems age of concent is not a clear cut thing in Mexico, any more than it is in the US. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 2:19:35 PM PinkRhoid, agree. but i have to add: HIV+ blood doesnt mean you get it immediately. theres a higher chance, but the HIV is a very weak virus and usually dies when it comes in contact with air. Unless some guy is basically pouring blood out of a gaping ax wound or something. its why doctors started to use gloves around '85 |

Monday, January 23, 2012 1:04:57 PM "If you can catch AIDS from a toilet seat used by a gay person, you can surely catch pregnancy." Unless you see blood on the toilet and choose to sit in it anyways and even then you need to have an open wound or rub an orifice on it. The blood would also have to be from someone with AIDS not just a gay person. All gay people don't have aids any more than all whites, blacks, asiana, pornstars, or any group at all. If you're a troll then 10/10 but if not you are potentially one of the most woefully, pathetically ignorant people I have ever had the displeasure of sharing ideas with. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 12:59:58 PM As an afterthought a LOT of adult women don't even breastfeed at all so she's already off to a good start for a 10 year old. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 12:59:28 PM Thdot, he was born premature and is in intensive care. He could be there for months. There's a cost associated with staying in a hospital longer than necessary, too, not to mention taking up room for actual patients. If she's healthy enough to go home and her kid isn't, I think it's great that she goes to see him every day. |

Monday, January 23, 2012 12:58:05 PM Thdot, Her baby isn't in the maternity ward it's in the ICU. Most hospitals have very strict rules on ICU visits and most do not allow 24/7 visitors. Not sure the policy on newborns but it's quite possible she's going as often as allowed, don't be so quick to judge. Also, comparing the rationale of a 10 year old in an unprecedented situation to your choices as a grown adult in a totally different situation is asinine. |
