The Thing is a horror classic... and though the remake isn't HORRIBLE, it still falls within my "I will see that any director responsible for a remake in Hollywood will be drawn, quartered, and violated by a thousand stray cats" decree if I am ever made Fuhrer... err... I mean President... >.> |

John Carpenter's The Thing wasn't campy, and the effects still hold up against CGI.

The Thing, the movie version of the short story of Who Goes There. Unlike the original movie )with a huge bald walking carrot) this remake is much closer to the original book that uses an Alien as a metiphore to comment on the Parinoia that was rampent durring the red communist scare of the Mccarthy period. |
