Wednesday, January 18, 2012 5:40:10 AM I'm disappointed Google, Yahoo, Facebook and Twitter aren't doing it too. That would have sent a much bigger message. |

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 2:10:39 AM Just stop loading the page before it cuts to the blackout screen. It's pretty easy to get around. |

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 12:46:04 AM Block scripts or press stop before black screen loads, quite half assed blackout. It would be better if they did it for real. |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 7:40:09 PM If you really want to get the attention of the sponsors of this type of legislation, there should be a boycott of renting or buying any media or going to any theaters for like 3 days. Or maybe direct it at one particular sponsor of the bill, and get as many people as possible to boycott the release of a new movie. Any movie studio that just spent 100+ mil on a movie that no one will go to see will certainly pay attention. |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 6:24:24 PM Google is the key here. Everyone uses it, and google is against SOPA. All they have to do is change the homepage to some sort of anti-SOPA statement and boom, everyone knows and your useless congress gets overloaded with calls to stop it. |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 6:22:34 PM I am not worried about this. People are pretty much universally against SOPA. And even if it passes it's not going to stop piracy in the slightest. This whole farce is just moronic bureaucrats getting in everyone's way. Yes, sites like this one have something to loose, maybe, but then again sites like this are themselves powerful entities that can adapt and/or fight back. |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 5:13:03 PM "Lol. I find it hilarious the a website that is the source of like 98% of plagiarism is protesting piracy. " That's kind of the point. Wiki isn't really plagiarizing since people are supposed to cite their source. But wiki is one of the sites (including google, youtube, facebook, twitter, tumblr, even IAB) who have a LOT to lose if this passes, since it's based on user submissions. It only makes complete sense for them to protest it. |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 5:10:09 PM I hope google does this too. It's a slight annoyance for a really good cause. It helps that I don't have any hw or quizzes that might require the internet tomorrow :P |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 3:25:17 PM "I think i-a-b should band together with these sites and go offline. Stronger as a group. " +1. The haters on this site that like to sit around spewing meaningless negative nothingness, could use a little lesson in taking action. |

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 3:16:16 PM Yes Fancy, take a day off. I want to see the internet and all my usual sites go black. Mostly because I need to get a life, but I sure as hell don't want SOPA to pass. |
