There ya go.

ForSquirel, i'm glad you have such a refined vocabulary, but i want to know, how would this make any sense if it was not referring to sexual rape?

"There's no such thing as non-sexual rape."

entry 4 from dictionary.com -

an act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: ie. the rape of the countryside.

and yes I've heard it used in the non-sexual meaning.

"what amazes me is with all the brilliant minds here at IAB that maybe the writer wasn't talking about sexual rape. I guess it's just become one of those words that illicit certain responses no matter what meaning it may have. Then again, I could be wrong and it was written by a jailed sex offender."

There's good reasons why some old 'proverbs' fall out of use...

There are also good reasons why no one wanted to take credit for saying this.

Maybe lie there emotionlessly and talk about your crappy day at work or drum your fingers and keep checking the time.

So... Was that "proverb" written by a rapist?

Personally, I'd approve of something more like, "When rape is inevitable, try to make sure it's as unenjoyable as possible for the rapist without further jeopardizing your own safety." Maybe lie there emotionlessly and talk about your crappy day at work or drum your fingers and keep checking the time.

"CaptKangaroo doesn't understand the word inevitable."

Or the fact that women are not the only ones that can be raped....

"I am not praising rape, but if poo is bad why not try making it better?"

Try telling that to the millions of military rape victims in second and third world countries, hell try telling that to single one in your country.

If this is the worst book ever, this idiots comment is the worst type ever.....

I think that was what Tex Antwon (a weatherman on ABC New York) said before his segment, just after the story about a rape. Two things resulted from his comment. He was fired and never was on the air again and the networks had a time delay for their Live News reports.

This "proverb" is wrong.
Even if something wrong is inevitable, stand up and say it is wrong!
(The "stand up" was not meant to be a pun)

Wow. Worst proverb ever. I googled it out of curiousity. And some people are actually stupid enough to quote it. In public!

where is the problem, it clearly states "if its inevitable" so if you are 'drated' you can still make "the best" of it.
