Sunday, January 15, 2012 2:34:33 PM @LazyMe484 With the consoles holding back graphics and performance, you don't really need to upgrade. I'm still using my old GTX 460, and it runs everything smoothly on high to ultra settings... |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 2:16:28 PM Looks like I've stumbled into a pc vs console battle. Quick! Choose a side! I don't have a console, but I've played it on one with my friends... and it's pretty bad in comparison. The console just doesn't have enough muscle for the advanced graphics. Not only that but loading times on a couple o' ssds is practically non existent. I don't even have enough time to read the little texts that show up. You might say that the console is still cheaper, but then a pc is good for other things... if you consider just the video card, then the pc wins again. I am managing about 50 fps on average with ultra settings at 1920x1200, this on a $200 6870. No competition. If I wanted to play it on a big-ass tv, I'd just hook that up and go. @Stonardsftw, I agree. It's a shame. I don't think I'll be upgrading video cards this year, since the games themselves haven't gotten much more demanding. No need. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:44:55 PM Stonardsftw completly right. Consoles now are to old, they are out from to long and that the project of this consoles is even older. A PC nowaday is much more powerful than all the consoles around. Sadly there are no software houses that are developping games for an actual PC. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:40:22 PM @jwhalerfan Also, I'd like you to actually comment on something relevant instead of just saying "Hurr durr your misinformation is pathetic", and explain to me your opinion on the matter. Otherwise you look like nothing more than a fanboy who can't take a step back and observe what is actually happening to the gaming industry. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:37:38 PM @jwhalerfan I have three PS3's, which is probably two more than you. I have clocked probably over 2000 hours on dozens of different games, and my opinion is very well informed. Anyone who denies that consoles, at least the current generation, aren't hurting the gaming industry is lying to themselves. The current console generation has been out for, what, 7 years now, and Nintendo is BARELY upgrading to HD. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the consoles I own for a very long time, and I support the companies that made the games. But it was time for these consoles to die 3 years ago, and they're still around and do nothing other than amass money for Microsoft and Sony, and limit game development.

Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:27:52 PM I was addicted for a while but am totally casual now. The problem I have with this game (and the same was true for fallout), is that i get so overpowered so early on. Leveling slowed down a bunch once I got to around 50 so it got boring. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:22:26 PM Stonardsftw, you got it all wrong. It looks fantastic through my PS3 and ginormous TV. You sound like someone who formed an opinion on a game without playing it. Your misinformation is pathetic. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:10:11 PM Skyrim isn't very well done nor is it addicting. In fact, I don't think I'm ever going to end up playing it all the way through. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 12:24:21 PM @Malakamike Naww, I've been done with Skyrim for a week. I haven't finished the side quests because I got discouraged by the poor main story line, but the Thieves and Dark Brotherhood lines were great and I had a lot of fun leveling Blacksmithing, Enchanting, and Alchemy. Also, the experience MASSIVELY differs on console. Aesthetically, you lack many different texture mods and performance mods. You have lower resolution textures combined with playing it on a large TV, making it look even worse. Not only that, but with the poor 10-20 FPS during graphics intensive portions of the game, it's just disappointing. "Gameplay" wise it isn't much of a difference other than the awkward controls and the lack of mods. These consoles were good for their time, but now they're just holding back progress because Sony and Microsoft want to keep milking them for easy money without investing in a new console.

Sunday, January 15, 2012 12:18:26 PM @Stonardsftw So I play it on console also, I bought it for console to get DLC early and I downloaded it on PC because I'm hardcore PC player, but how does playing the game on console differ from the experience on PC????? That makes no sense, looks like your still in the denial stage of skyrim, what was that #3? lol |
