Tuesday, January 17, 2012 10:20:52 PM @guillotine: I'm facepalming as hard as your avatar at your words. The building did NOT fall at free fall speeds, that's just a misinterpretation of the video. Jet fuel does NOT need to melt the steel to sufficiently weaken it. And no, you cannot "physically" (or any other way) see thermite going off when the towers collapse. Please read a site that uses actual science: Popular Mechanics - Debunking the 9/11 Myths: Special Report The "The World Trade Center" entry there covers all of the myths you just cited as "evidence" for a conspiracy. Further reading, if you're unconvinced: Cracked - Was 9/11 an Insid |

Monday, January 16, 2012 4:17:21 PM @HiEv Its not a conspiracy "theory" when its true. Disregarding the actual laws of physics stating that its impossible individual floors of the WTC fell at free fall speed through the resistance of the other floors, or that jet fuel does't burn hot enough to melt steel, simply watching the videos of the moments before the towers collapsed and you can physically see the thermite going off on 8 individual floors. You sir are a moron for drinking the kool-aid the feds feed you. |

Monday, January 16, 2012 2:43:22 PM @Steelgrid: It's been my experience that people who feel the need bring up 9/11 and make ignorant comments about how it happened are almost always 9/11 conspiracy nuts. For the record, NORAD was *not* in charge of monitoring US airspace at the time 9/11 occurred, and was only to be called in by the FAA to assist if a plane was hijacked. (For details see here.) Blaming NORAD for not doing something that wasn't their job, or worse yet, implying that they were able to and yet didn't, is typical 9/11 conspiracy nut ignorance in my book. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 10:09:08 AM "Well, I suppose if Jesse M believes in 9/11 conspiracy theories, it's not much surprise he also believes that NORAD is really tracking Santa Claus." And where in this ANYWHERE does it point that she believe in conspiracy theories? She talks about 3 planes being tracked after 4th hit a building. So tell me again, jackass, where at ALL in this post does she say that? |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 5:00:35 AM SCATANA has since been replaced with Canada's awesome rocking plan ESCAT (Emergency Security Control of Air Traffic). Pretty much the same except it allows for a smoother flow of things we need airborne, such as VIP's, fighters/tankers, Search and Rescue assets, etc... (All included in the EATPL/WATPL (Emergency/Wartime Air Traffic Priority List). And everything is covered depending on the Defense Condition #, every action for every position in NORAD is covered by a checklist. And everybody is trained to respond properly, and their job is to wait for an incident to occur. But when reality hits, it never goes the way we train for. (I always told the sim teams they should give us 9-11-esque simulations rather than London to Toronto...plenty of time to react to that) |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 4:50:00 AM NORAD was supposedly running an "Amalgam _____" exercise when 9/11 started. Look up NORAD exercise names. The way they work is that the first word says who the playing authorities are. In the case above, multiple sectors playing with the leading authority being Colorado, they start with "Amalgam". And the second word will define the mission type; hijack, no-notice live-fly, point defense, etc... (I can't find the list online so I will assume it is classified). It was chaotic on Sept 9th 01 on every Ops floor across NORAD, and there was more at stake than just 3 airliners. If you remember, all air traffic was to be landed (SCATANA - Secure Control of Air Traffic And NORAD Assets) and though FAA and NavCanada's excellent ATC's took care of landing everything IFR, our job was to ensure everything NOT identified and airborne was taken care of. |

Sunday, January 15, 2012 12:28:55 AM Ugh the 9/11 conspiracy theories are never going to die down, are they? I guess all of the theories people have come up with are a better explanation than "the planes were hijacked and crashed in to some buildings and everybody saw it." |

Saturday, January 14, 2012 10:03:11 PM Or... maybe he has NO point. Conspiracies are fine, but lets at least stick to the facts, eh? No point in making stuff up just to, idk, promote the theory? |

Saturday, January 14, 2012 9:34:11 PM Worried that this is some fringe propoganda? look up all the information. Request FOIA papers like I did. I verified it, and most of the "conspiracy" checks out.

Saturday, January 14, 2012 9:31:48 PM That tool would be me. I could sit here for days providing evidence to support the idea that a lot of suspicious BS went on that day, but I know that some of you chose to remain ignorant. Do your own research and you'll find some truth. No argument is required here because any reasonable person that knows how to take in information will come up with about the same opinion on the matter. If not? Well then its not worth my time reasoning with you. |

Saturday, January 14, 2012 8:27:23 PM "From what I heard, it was even worse than that. They knew something was really wrong when 3 planes were reported hijacked a couple HOURS before the first plane hit." That would be a pretty neat trick since flight 11 crashed 1 hour and 7 minutes after takeoff. |

Saturday, January 14, 2012 8:15:00 PM @Batmanners: From what I heard, it was even worse than that. They knew something was really wrong when 3 planes were reported hijacked a couple HOURS before the first plane hit. After the first of them hit the WTC, there was just gut-wrenching agony because the only thing they could do was scramble a pair of fighters from FAR away to do SOMEthing. I also read that NORAD debated pulling the kill switch on GPS (Yes, the Pentagon has the ability to turn off civilian GPS), but they were worried that would cause even MORE fatalities & damage than the hijacked planes slamming into buildings. So all the day shift could do was sit in their seats and watch their screens and CNN (literally).

Saturday, January 14, 2012 6:20:31 PM FYI, we were tracking them. We have excellent quality recordings/playbacks of everything we saw as it was occurring. Assets from Bangor were deployed to respond to the crisis under the order of EADS and Colorado Springs/Cheyenne Mountain (NORAD HQ). The whole thing happened so fast there was no time to act. And I'm pretty sure an F-16 firing a missile into a hijacked airliner over NYC wouldn't have been very smart. I worked 5 years in North Bay taking care of the Canadian portion of NORAD. Worked hand-in-hand with USAF personnel and with ANR, WADS and EADS...
