I live in the UP, and I can tell you this level of ignorance is a regular thing around here. I'll never understand it. We're one of the northern most states in the country, yet everyone acts like they live in the deep south. It's real life Deliverance country. If you want to blend in around here, deck yourself out in camouflage 365 days a year, and turn down your IQ a 100 points. Welcome to the UP. |

Wait a second, I thought that Huntington's didn't show symptoms until around the age of 40, which is why it's so awful--you don't find out about it until you've already had kids, who then run a 50% chance of having inherited the disease themselves. |
