Funny how this headline reads "Gawker writer FIRED for using 'nigga' in story." while when you click the link the headline reads "Gawker writer NOT FIRED for using 'nigga' in story."
There kind of is a difference there, me thinks... |

Sounds to me like he was indeed fired for the N-word. If not that was the tipping point. Problem is he was defining an acronym Kanye derived, "DONDA": Dis Original N***a Dresses Aight. Seth should have done what every white guy does when that word seems appropriate. Don't use it. |

I read it and I did a little investigating and I found another article with his boss quoted in it saying "I thought it was a half-assed apology," Daulerio told TheWrap. "I basically do not want people working for the site who do not care." You can read it here.
Sounds like his boss is back-peddling now, but the writer definitely got fired for his original article. |

I frequently read stories that have ni--a, or something like that, and I wonder why that is not 'inflammatory', or 'racist'? I can tell you this, if I wrote that someone was a motherf-ck-r, they wouldn't be any less upset than if I'd written the whole word out, would they? The meaning hasn't changed, has it?

Clicked on the link and it says "Gawker Writer Was Not Fired For Using 'Nigga' In Kanye West Post." So I'm guessing his firing was deserved and also had nothing to do with his post. |

I always thought Kanye was open season for mocking--especially since half his songs contain the word nigga. Is it a case of 'you can say it--even nigga--if you're not black. |
