@crakrjak - I reload my own ammo , so i get away with better prices that that. but even if i didnt .. i can't be bothered shooting the .22 lr. i left that caliber many a years ago |

Yes, .22 lr is cheap, and yes it can kill people.
that is besides the point. i still find it a crap caliber for my needs .. so lol .. get a real gun .. :P

5.56 and .223 are not the same round. The measurements are nearly identical, but 5.56 has a higher chamber pressure. Firing .223 through a gun marked 5.56 is perfectly safe. 5.56 trough a dedicated .223 is not such a good idea though. It's kinda like +P or +P+ rounds, just because the gun is able to shoot them doesn't make it a wise thing to do. |

tommy2X4: Not really true.
M16s fire 5.56mm rounds, that's equivalent to .223 cal., that's bigger than a .22 cal. That's not a huge difference in circumference, but comparing a 22 cal to a 5.56 is just apples and oranges. You would never mistake one for the other, after seeing them side by side.

Tracer rounds must be bad for the barrel. I'll bet you have to clean twice or three times as often.
.22 cal is what the M16 is, it's just got a longer bullet and much more powder behind it. |

Rawrg: Yeah 22s at short range can be deadly, not a quick kill either, most of the time, they are agonizingly painful.
I knew a guy hit with 2 - 22 bullets, the first just grazed him, the second entered his upper leg, traveled up through the bowl of his hips and ended up near his armpit. He was in the hospital 3 months, when he finally got out he was homeless and disabled, had lost his job, lost his apartment, lost his GF, lost his car, and everything else. That would've severely depressed most people, but he remained hopeful. |

.22 is a bad bullet to be shot by at close range. Things enter your body and ricochet around in you shredding your insides. No stopping power, unless getting your intestines shredded stops you. |

Boresome: 22s are great for target shooting, the ammunition is cheap, plus you can use them to hunt varmints.
A box of 100 - 22 LR is $8.00
a box of 50 - 9mm is $19.95
A box of 50 - 38 40s is $32.95
A box of 50 - 45 ACP is $45.95
Now, which would you pick just to go target shooting with ? |

oh ok.. so i guesse you mind if i shoot you with a .22 then? all guns have different uses.. a .22 being one of the most useful guns in the world. unless you hunting bigger then coyote.. .22 magnum would take a coyote no prob. |
