Monday, January 09, 2012 12:04:05 PM @LuckyDave The numbers are beyond my grasp/imagination. With billions and trillions being thrown about casually in conversation by the government, it is hard to grasp the enormity of the finances involved. No epic fail involved, except by our non-governing government ;) |

Monday, January 09, 2012 11:45:51 AM I rescind my post about billionaires, with the math I was doing each person would have gotten a dollar instead of a million of them. Yes, epic fail is epic. |

Monday, January 09, 2012 11:24:47 AM "Interesting thought, a billionaire could give $1 million to every person in the United States / and still have plenty left over for himself." With one billion you could make one thousand people millionaires. The richest person in the world could make only a small city worth of millionaires. If Spokane WA was had its population starting at zero dollars, the richest guy in the world could not get them all even half way to being a millionaire. |

Sunday, January 08, 2012 10:51:38 PM Interesting thought, a billionaire could give $1 million to every person in the United States, thereby erasing most of the debt and sending the economy into overdrive, and still have plenty left over for himself. Or he could just hoard it all until the day he dies, despite the fact that you can't take it with you. There are many things you could do with that kind of money, this being only one possibility, my only point is that being a private citizen with billions of dollars, doing nothing except creating interest, is rather greedy. |

Sunday, January 08, 2012 4:31:12 PM "Dude, see point B." Sorry man, but I think you revealed your ignorance of the housing market in that state by making the Lamborghini/McDonald's income juxtaposition there. Just because somebody isn't willing to uproot and find a great deal on property/land in whatever state your family was able to doesn't mean they're necessarily f*cking themselves over royally. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who DID and most of them were actually in the mortgage industry that they were bilking! Go figure. (shows you incompetence is often the more likely explanation for perceived conspiracy) "Seriously, it's California, you lose brain cells just crossing the border." On this point, I wholeheartedly agree with you. |

Sunday, January 08, 2012 4:02:43 PM Or maybe they live in California Altaru, and wanted a BASIC home that goes for pennies on the dollar elsewhere (just not $100,000.00 pennies). Dude, see point B. Seriously, it's California, you lose brain cells just crossing the border. @altaru the average person doesn't save all 600k before buying a 3 bedroom house... Protip: SHOP MORE. My family got a 4 bedroom house with a nice amount of land for a DAMN good deal. We knew what we wanted and what we could compromise, and in the end found the perfect house for a great price, well under your "600k for a 3 bedroom." If you aren't a picky, stuck up prick or a dumbass (see point B), you can easily avoid getting bent over like that on a home. |

Saturday, January 07, 2012 10:32:11 PM This guy was a terrible speaker. How do you fumble over a speech that you wrote and record. He had the ability to redo any mistakes he made and he didn't. Poor quality, and I don't really care about the message either. poo's drated up, we all know that, and there's nothing we can do. And for everyone who hates on America, don't worry we hate it too. And we hate you for thinking you have the right to call us out when the only thing you "know" about us is what you hear in the news or reality tv. Morons. America isn't the place you think is, and yes you are a douche bag for thinking you're better than everyone, yet saying that we think we're better than everyone. You're both moronic, and hypocritical. Congratulations. At least when we're douche bags, we own up to it. |

Saturday, January 07, 2012 9:56:02 PM What you may understand if you read a little about this is that the 16 trillion is kind of an exaggeration. The loans were sort term loans (kind of like a payday loan). The bank barrows say 1 million, can't pay it at the end of the term and so rolls it into another loan for say 1 million + the interest owed. For the sake of simplicity say 1.1 million. On the books 2.1 million loans were given out but the bank was only extended 1.1 million at any given time. So how much was the FED extended at any given time? The GAO found the peak outstanding loan balance was never more then 1.2 trillion. Still a very big number but much less the 16 trillion. |

Saturday, January 07, 2012 6:14:50 PM Where is he getting this figure of $44,000 including mortgage and car loans? Just my mortgage and what's left on my car loans is 10x that Because most people either A) can't afford, or B) aren't stupid enough to f*ck themselves over THAT royally. Seriously, dude, what did you do, buy a penthouse suite and a Lambo while working at McDonald's? Plus, it's an average. Average's include the people with no debt. Of which there are few, but they do make their little dent. |

Saturday, January 07, 2012 4:46:17 PM @gothpirate why would you not? do you not do any research when it comes to political views? your telling me obama has done such a good job that you'd vote for him again? brainless twats like yourself is the reason ignorance is king in america Well, I'm not her, but... It's probably because for everything "good" thing Paul does, the paper trails lead to a million dirty little secrets he's hiding. And plenty of his policies would f*ck this country just as surely as any of the other candidates. Not only that, but even if he DID win and DID have good ideas, he'd still have to put them through Congress, who would probably block half of them out of spite if nothing else anyway. All the candidates suck. Ron Paul included. There is no "lesser evil" here, they'd all lead us down different paths of ruination. Which is why I'm voting Cthulhu. At least he's open about the chaos and destruction he would bring. |
