Thursday, December 29, 2011 8:12:42 PM A great gift that just about anyone would be appreciative of, particularly under the circumstances. Suggestion to everyone: we know who the far-too-obvious trolls are here on IAB. Just ignore them. Responding to their input is like pouring gas on a fire, and they know it. Don't feed them. Don't respond to their comments, and watch how much more pathetic the comments get to elicit your attention. |

Thursday, December 29, 2011 7:05:11 PM @Zagger You write a letter to Santa and you have at least a glimmer of hope. Try praying for an iPhone. |

Thursday, December 29, 2011 6:31:13 PM this is one of many reasons why every "drat you mom/dad for not getting me the iphone for christmas" kid should be falcon punched without mercy. |

Thursday, December 29, 2011 1:25:52 PM From what I recall, electrocution was the leading cause of preventable death in Iraq. Really, if you saw some of the circuit breaker panels over there, you'd be afraid to plug anything into the wall. |

Yeah, what SmegBoy said. It's not that the sentiment isn't good, I'm just seen so many of these reunion videos now that I'm about to drop into a diabetic coma. How many times do I have to go "awwwww" before I can go back to looking at porn? |

Thursday, December 29, 2011 10:04:56 AM lostinkorea, I've come home from deployment far more times than I can count now, and, frankly, I'm with auburnjunky and Gerry (pmarren went too far). Not about the sentiment. I understand your take on it, but, the filming of it? As many of these as I've seen now, it seems exploitative to me. Why make a public spectacle out of something that should be private? When my daughter was much younger, the bundle of emotions upon my coming home was so much that she often didn't know how to react at first, cycling between hugging me and crying (no smart ass comments from anyone, please). I wouldn't DARE put that up on YouTube or Twitter or whatever. These setups, while touching, to me are wrong on several levels. Just my thoughts as a veteran. |
