@MissingOS; I have to disagree. Pop music is written by talented songwriters in studios and often in their homes. I feel that 2011 was an excellent year for pop music. All my life I have been into sub-mainstream music but even I can admit that this year the top 40 stuff really shined. I don't think this much good pop has been released in years. |

Not too difficult to mix a bunch of songs that sound alike in the first place. Pop music is made buy a guy at desk; American culture is in it's death throes. |

It takes talent to make crap that is marketable to people that want to market it. Someone got paid for it. Spit polishing turds takes time and expertise. You can't take that away. It just doesn't mean that its good, just well crafted. A sit down dildo machine is still a sit down dildo machine even even if it's made of diamonds.

@eovogt, so pianists aren't musicians? Mozart and Beethoven weren't musicians? Pianists in orchestras or bands aren't musicians? Really now? Is this just because there are so many of us? Because I could easily say the same thing about guitarists that are mediocre at best. I'm not going to say that, because anyone that can play an instrument and play it well is a musician in my eyes.
The thing that bothers me the most about this is that I'm still hearing all of these songs on the radio almost a full year later, and I very rarely listen to the radio, especially any station that would play this bovine excrement. Usually they add something new by now, don't they? Are artists really getting that incredibly lazy? |

Hmm I began doing this when i was 17...8 years ago - its actually not all that difficulty if you don't have a job, but you have a lot of free time.
People are mostly bitching people the modern music now a days can be created by one person with one computer - it doesn't take a whole lot of talent just a lot of time and luck. They sample music that was made by real musicians (i mean who can play an instrument other then a piano).
I mean what kind of a world do we live in now when justin beiber wins awards or similar artist's who have never sung live, and only lip sync to a recording, and they profit millions of dollars from it.
Also what happened to the days of when a song actually meant something? Now a days its like lyrics don't even count. I could go on but this is making me depressed. |

unless you have tried mixing songs before you can't comprehend how hard doing something like this is.You need a very good ear for music and the tune of how each of the songs flow. DJ Earworm is a BEAST and has mad talent. |

@Lukas: that could of also been part of the idea of mashing...you link together similar songs to make it sounds like one.
I can tell you that fireworks doesn't sound anything like f**k you.
Also, I think the artist did add his own autotune to the mix |

It's all the same really, meaningless autontuned words over a basic drumbeat. Kinda shows how bland and diluted pop music has become. I couldn't even differentiate between the songs. Sad really. |
