Border Collies are the GENIUSES of the doggy world! If you cannot train one of those, there's something wrong with you!
Kitties are harder to train, and few 'breeds' are any smarter than the others.

My vote is for Nana! Jamie76, I have to disagree with you. Both cats and dogs are very intelligent, however dogs answer more to a master and will do more to please a master than a cat would. While a cat might take weeks to learn a trick that a dog may pick up in a very short time, it is most likely because the cat has taken that long to decide that the effort involved in doing the trick is worth it for the reward given. A dog is happy just to receive his or her master's praise and affection. |

cats take weeks to learn a trick that a dog can literally learn in about 20 minutes.
I love cats, have two of them but dogs are easily smarter.

90% of that was stuff a cat does naturally, and probably didn't need much coaxing.
The dog was trained to mimic the cat, and is really not living up to it's potential.
That dog looks like a border collie, and they are one of the smartest breeds. |

This woman/couple need to have some kids. That, or she/they need to genetically modify/breed some cats and dogs that live at least forty years, 'cause you know she/they will be emotional wastelands once one of these animals dies. |

Oh please. Dog wins. Notice how the cat kept looking up during tricks? The owner is coaxing it with a reward.
Once an animal learns a trick, it'll do it without the reward. Besides, look at the dog. It LIKES doing the stuff. |
