Wednesday, December 21, 2011 2:02:35 PM That would be Barney Frank who is largely responsible for the catastrophic continuation of the terrible policies of Fanny and Freddie? Probably having the largest personal responsibility for the 2008 economic devastation? This man is self-serving, hypocritical and repulsive. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 4:44:59 PM @OutWest What regulations are you referring to? From what (admittedly little) I've read thus far, he seems to be consistently anti-regulation. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 8:06:18 AM Barney was spot on! Now as far as those CAFE standards killing people...that's a myth. Traffic deaths have actually fallen, not risen, mostly due to the seat-belt laws and mandatory airbags that Conservatives fought tooth-and nail against. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 7:32:25 AM The internet is a gateway drug to pot. I have found that heroin is a great way to get off of crack cocaine though. Now if I just have some thing to kick the heroin. But seriously, I don't think pot should be illegal. Use the same tax system and license system that currently applies to alcohol. But I think selling pot in a liquor store might be a bad idea. So if you open pot stores you create jobs, the store owner, the grower, the store clerk, the artist that makes the cool bongs, and the guys that sell the pot to the pot store. Just license all of them in a similiar way that alcohol is done. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 6:58:54 AM Also, the whole cigs/alcohol being a gateway to weed has been apparent for decades if you believe in the gateway garbage. The only argument that could possibly go against decriminalization/legalization of weed is the standard "If we do that, EVERYONE will use it" which has never been found to be true, and also promotes the idea that use CONSTITUTES abuse, when it doesn't, just like all the people that drink and aren't addicted and driving drunk. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 6:56:06 AM what light bulbs to use, or how much water we can have coming out of our shower heads Ignorance. If you believe your sources of fresh water are unlimited then you are dreaming. And lightbulbs? Really? Energy efficient lightbulbs use less electricity and last longer than normal incandescent ones, so why bother bitching? Over time you save more than you initially spend. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 6:49:58 AM @Patticakes- Could you explain how fuel efficiency kills 40k people every year? |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 6:24:47 AM And if the topic changes to fuel efficiency then Democrats are OK with inflicting on us CAFE standards, which kill over 40 thousand people every year, and they're not opposed to telling us what light bulbs to use, or how much water we can have coming out of our shower heads or in our toilets, or how much salt restaurants can use. Nice try, Barney, but totally disingenuous. |

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 5:41:27 AM But if the topic changes to gun control, Barney Frank is all for limiting freedom. Each major party, in their own way, is for personal liberty only on things with which they agree. |

Monday, December 19, 2011 11:14:12 PM I love the whole 'Gateway Drug' conversation, because in essence it's true. However for me and most of my friends my age, alcohol came first, -then- weed, etc.. I can buy a bottle of vodka anywhere, and noone cares in the slightest... People worry about the next act of atrocity by the 'Muslim Menace', me, I'm more worried about how the government in power, both here in Australia and in the US, panders to Christian 'values' to boost their votes... |

Monday, December 19, 2011 9:32:11 PM OldOllie if you are a libertarian you should not be worrying about how often you agree with the dems or even worrying about them at all. you should be asking yourself instead when was the last time you agreed with anything the GOP had to say or has done??? |
