You should grow up, Justin. You aren't very good at it.

I can't believe the people so buttfrustrated that comedians actually get paid. It's a legitimate career, and infinitely more difficult than acting, and look what actors get paid. Difference there is actors have their lines given to them and all kinds of retakes. When you're up on stage, people heckle you at the drop of a hat. You're telling jokes that you came up with and practiced,[unless you're stealing another comedian's joke, which never flies well.] and you have one shot to deliver it or it ruins the joke.

Here's a great comedian who released over an hour of jokes for five bucks. When it's that reasonable, piracy arguments start faltering. You do not HAVE to watch this if your ass is that broke. I'd love to see Louis do this more often for this price, I think this is the kind of poo we should be supporting, not pissing on.

@Aints: LMAO! I'm old? That's your best shot? Jeez. I suppose you don't aspire to getting any older and intend to stay young and stupid forever. As General Manager of the Universe I guess you have the choice! You could always kill yourself at 30 if you think being over 50 is some kind of handicap. Lame, Dude.

@burbclaver "As a previous defender of freedom, I thought you'd appreciate that - or maybe you were in the Taliban military,"

Well maybe you're lying about being in the military and you're Bin Laden's praying partner...see how that game is played? Ejit.

If you have a counter opinion do try and be a bit more articulate than 'bollocks'.

There is some interesting reading under IABs Copyright Policy
For example:
"I-am-bored.com respects the copyrights and other intellectual property rights of others and requests that the people who use its services do the same."

And this is cute too:
"Termination for Violation of Policy

It is our policy to terminate in appropriate circumstances an Account or the access rights of a subscriber for repeated copyright infringement, and we also reserve the right to terminate a subscriber for even one instance of infringement."

JUST SAYIN'

Louis is funny, he's being straight-forward, and he's trying something different with this DL approach. I respect that. That, and all the money goes straight to him, not some distributors, and it's only $5, unlike any DVD or download you find out there. Well done, Louis. Guys, just buy the thing if you wanna see it!

He's only charging $5, you f*cks. I like Louis CK so if I see the special I'm going to pay the five dollars. It's cheap, he's doing something different, and it's with his own company. If you want more Louis CK, pay the $5. He's not some corporation. He's just one funny guy.

@Aints: Ah, so finally I have met the general manager of the universe! The person who decides that his own contribution to society is worthwhile, but thinks the business of anybody he judges unworthy can be destroyed. I don't like this comedian either, but what he does is legal and liked by many who see a value in what he does. As a previous defender of freedom, I thought you'd appreciate that - or maybe you were in the Taliban military,

burbclaver, most people are caught between two ideals, getting paid for work done, and the idea that knowledge and art should inherently be free for the betterment of society as a whole. When I wonder what the renaissance would have been like if Shakespeare had put income over art, I tend to go with the latter.

Much as you seem to think that piracy is killing art, I say it's improving it. Now we get to see artists who are in it for the love, not for the coin. Now the quality of our art goes up.

@burbclaver Oh I know! I worked hard my entire life. I work hard now, I served in the Army, 4 damn years! Let someone try to take away my cash.. Its not going to happen, you know why? Because my work is relevant to the modern economy. Who gives a fat fu** if a comedian isn't getting paid enough. Truth is, that should be his part time job. I'm going to pirate his stuff now just to delete it!

As someone who regularly has their work pirated, I'd like to say drat all you pirates who claim to be too broke to pay a fair price for something. This isn't a victimless crime against some faceless corporation as some of you think. How'd you like it if you did a fair day's work and then someone told you they weren't paying you, because they couldn't afford it? Much as I think this comedian is unfunny, I believe he has the right to be paid and he did his best to make his work available at a reasonable price. It's never cheap enough for you though, is it? Don't complain when the only jobs left are pizza delivery. As for Fancylad, this post isn't unusual in that many links disappear from IAB for copyright infringement, but this one was happily acknowledged as piracy in the link title. That's disappointing.

"you can check out any of his other stuff on youtube"
Nah guys, don't do that.
Most of the youtube clips are small segments of full sets available on DVD.
Torrent the full shows & watch them instead.

Even if I really liked this dude, I wouldn't pay for it.. Sorry. He makes me laugh? Cool.. So do some guys at work. Fu** comedians, go fu** off to the rest of you saying how this is "not cool".. Comedians deserve LOW wages and LOWER pay for "tours". So what if someone can make you laugh?? Comedians understand it, they are to be laughed at and not taken seriously because they know there "career" is a joke! (see what I did there, see it?) Go cry to your moms about a dumb man getting screwed over a little cash for a stupid career off the internet, bi**es...

If you don't know louis c.k., you can check out any of his other stuff on youtube. Five dollars is not a ridiculous price. The day this came out I spent that money and Louis earned it with the first joke, worth every penny. He is one of my favorite stand up comedians, and he's just trying to move up with the times and make a little money. With all the laughs he's given me, five dollars is absolutely nothing.

If I thought ANY reader on I-A-B (save for about .5 percent of you), I'd take this off. But we all know no one's dropping $5 on anything.

"It is true that my not throwing trash on the ground will not stop littering. But for littering to be eradicated, I must not throw trash on the ground."
It doesn't matter to me that Fancy only linked to something that was up anyway. I'm not going to launch into an argument about why I think it was so wrong, because no one is going to be convinced in an IAB comment thread. However, I've been on IAB since damn near the beginning, and never once found occasion to comment. I took issue with some things, but I didn't expect to be pleased all of the time. This is different. It is with a heavy heart that I leave IAB for good. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it's the only way to truly show my disapproval.

Fancy, I know there's no chance anything will change your mind about this, my views included. I only hope that having lost a reader will give you pause.

Thanks for all the entertainment over the years.
