Actually, a more accurate title would be: "Wannabe Senator Al Franken draws an approximate map of the U.S."
Yes, impressive, more than most can do. But this does not take 'Genius', or even 'intelligence'. All it takes is practice.
It doesn't take genius to be able to replicate a map, drawing or artwork.

Everyone is asking "how is this genius? I already know this!" The point is, could you draw the EXACT SHAPES?! Not just KNOWING each state, but WHERE they are AND detailed SHAPES of each state AND have the final result come out LOOKING like a map of the US! He even had the sizes right for the scale of his map. Just KNOWING the states is nothing, but drawing a map like that FREE HAND? And in proportion? With detail? That IS pretty smart! |

One of my history professors did this a couple weeks ago. He didn't do all the states, but they were just as accurate. |
