Wednesday, December 14, 2011 10:05:14 PM Saying "Chaplin was a commie" hardly comes out as a critical analysis. Actually, that was the RESULT of a critical analysis. |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 7:45:31 AM "So, your position is that we should simply accept the message without critical analysis of the the messenger or his motives?" Saying "Chaplin was a commie" hardly comes out as a critical analysis. Great speech from The Great Dictator anyway, hash yet heartwarming |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 12:05:42 PM If only it was that easy. The real problem isn't between people and countries, it's good vs. evil. The war that goes on even to the unseen eye. There can be no peace as long as evil is present. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 11:41:07 AM "Chaplin was a commie." Now someone apparently didn't get the message of the movie. So, your position is that we should simply accept the message without critical analysis of the the messenger or his motives? If that's what you're saying, it goes a long way toward explaining why liberals believe so many things that are not true. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 11:28:13 AM @ssfdg The Great Dictator. For somebody who mostly did silent films, Chaplin had a great voice. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 8:58:17 AM @CrakrJak: Not necessarily.. There have been cultures without the concept of personal ownership.. Of course they're all destroyed now, but it's still been proven to be at least possible.. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 8:54:16 AM I really hope it's possible.. But honestly it looks like George carlin was right. We've gone too far, and it looks like there is no longer any hope for change.. At this point we're just cirkling the drain... |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 7:54:02 AM Draculya: just becuase someone says to "fight" doesn't mean it needs to be done physically. like your teachers told you when you and everyone else when we were coming through grade school..."Use your words." |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 5:01:31 AM Humans are flawed. We will never change. There will always be a constant struggle between what is right and what is wrong. Nice video but it will never happen. It does capture a "them against us feeling" that's quite fashionable at the moment but once this recession passes and everyone is a bit better off and the future is bright and rosy again, people will forget the message in this video. It's all happened before and it will all happen again. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 12:47:02 AM Is this what Hitler said before he invaded Poland? I'm kidding. It all sounds good, but obviously for all that years since the movie nothing changed for good. |

Monday, December 12, 2011 8:43:38 PM He had me until he started saying "fight". Then I realised it was simply more warmongering claptrap designed to enslave the people and make them kill each other. |

Monday, December 12, 2011 8:32:47 PM The Great Dictator is a good film, but the part of Charlie's speech about 'greed passing' is utopian non-sense. individual self-interest will always exist. |
