Mallakhamb could also go in as vertical bar gymnastics. It's derived from martial arts training, although it's long since split off as a seperate thing.
Odd fact of the day:
Curry is English, not Indian. The word isn't from any Indian language and is used in India only as a word borrowed from English, if it's used at all. The food labelled simply as "curry" isn't Indian either (it's English), nor is the most popular variation, tikka massala. That's Scottish. Even the "Indian" dishes (e.g. rogan josh, etc) you get outside of India are usually Anglo-Indian, i.e. Indian dishes modified for English (and thus British and American) tastes. |

I think there needs to be a seperation between pole dancing, which is a sex show, and this sort of thing, which is a gymnastics display using a vertical pole. There are recognised gymnastics events using horizontal poles - why not a vertical one? This clearly requires the same degree of strength, co-ordination, balance and training, so why not class it as vertical bar gymnastics? |

The dress is a dance dress. That style seems to be very popular for competitive dance these days. I don't see why it's popular, but I see why she chose the dress. And damn I wish I could do that. I honestly don't think it's slutty at all. (Many guys probably disagree with me on that, but then they'd also have to call half the Cirque du Soleil performers strippers.) |

Amazing how things progress. This used to be, more or less, a hush hush thing. You go into a strip joint and watch some chick to get your rocks off.
Now, its turned it, what can almost be considered, a public sport/event. Will we see it in Olympics one day as a gymnastic event?!
