this story was too long to really follow. i'm still lost as to why she was in court the first time, why she didn't just say no to the judge, and what business it was to the judge in the first place.
it's funny how the church didn't help her gift from god at all, and some how she assumed that everyone owes her.
maybe as a deal to get money, they tie her tubes so she can't spawn any more. |

Two observations: First, it comes as no surprise that some of the more conservative posters here couldn't comment on this without aluding to race being a factor. (talk about being "typical", eh?)
Secondly, the same posters wail about individuals wanting a handout, but never gripe about corporate handouts. (again...typical)

I'll tell you who should pay for her kids, foster parents! @LazyMe484 says there should be an assistance cap and I agree but I don't think you should just say "You're on your own" after 'x' number of kids and having more kids puts you that much further below the poverty line, removing the parent's ability to raise their children properly and puts the children at risk of doing without essentials like food and clothing. Here's my master plan: If you are using government aid while raising two or more children AND THEN you have another, that child should be adopted out to a gay couple. If it happens again you lose ALL your kids to gay foster families and you get NOTHING. Lets see how these "Right to Breed"-ers feel about that. If you aren't paying for it, you don't get to b***h. BTW true story, this news story is near my hometown (of course Florida). |

It is a persons right to have children, even if they don't have the means to support them. You can't stop nature that way. But assuming someone is receiving aid like this, the marginal benefit to a parent of a 15th kid, is far outweighed by the expense of raising them.
That's why there should be an assistance cap. Any more than, say, 3 kids (and this can be debated all you want) - and you're on your own. |

@talon Really? You sound just as ignorant as that woman in the video. You wouldn't say that if she were white, now would you? Not everything is about race.
I agree with Simbha, but I also wonder if it wouldn't be more prudent for our government to start mandating the quantity of children a woman can have depending on her ability to care for them. China only permits one child per family, and though I do not agree with Communism, I feel that it would be a better alternative than allowing this type of prolific procreation. Would it be better or worse to not allow a woman to bring children into an impoverished environment versus allowing it and thus allowing her to put a drain on society and government resources? |

If a person chooses to procreate excessively and cannot provide for the most basic needs of their children - not on a clearly temporary basis, but indefinitely - then the children must be taken away from the person and placed into the custody of those who can provide for them. Period.
It is not in the best interest of the children to allow this woman to continue to raise them; she clearly cannot provide for them and she is not a good role model. |
