Saturday, December 03, 2011 9:01:17 PM These things are not hard to avoid. At all. Sure, sometimes stupid things/people are popular. But there's other things that are really great, like The XX and Studio Ghibli Movies. |

Friday, December 02, 2011 1:09:13 PM I wish this stuff was avoidable, I wish I could live on an island by myself in the South Pacific and eat mangoes and climb mountains, but I can't. I have to wake up to this, every day, on my television, on facebook, on the freaking news. I don't think the world has even been this sh-t. |

Friday, December 02, 2011 7:27:00 AM "I'm sick of this" Well don't go along with it. I would be sick of it if I ever bothered to care about it. I make my own way instead. I am happy. |

Friday, December 02, 2011 4:21:50 AM @Loxen I pretty much use most of the alternatives you mention but it never stops someone asking me about "justin biebers new car" or "who ashton kutcher is dating" Being a part of the society who gets a kick out of all this pop culture and consumer garbage is the problem, I can do all these things to avoid hearing about this stuff but there's always someone else who just has to let you know about something your so sick of hearing about. My next alternative will be sealing my house from the outside world and living in the internet with the good people of IAB. Who's with me?!? |

Friday, December 02, 2011 1:37:19 AM He doesn't have to go to those places. He doesn't have to read celeb news, or watch TV made for zombies. He could watch all the good shows, and listen to all the music he wants on the internet without the crap fillers. As a society we're fast approaching (if not already there) an age where we can customize our reality and experience that which appeals to us most, while leaving the rest of the junk to other less mentally capable people. Don't like the big box stores? Go to farmers markets, and support local grown produce. You can get a large portion of your clothes, as well as other products from artisans on places like Etsy, or from companies that promise fair wages for their workers (ie no sweat shop crap). There ARE alternatives. Just make an effort. I'm not even really sure what his problem is. Is it that he hates how society loves and adores all those things? Getting an attitude over what other people like really isn't a good trait to have... |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 7:38:45 PM To be fair Kain I saw that movie because it had Jim Carry in it. I also saw I Love You Phillip Morris because he was in it. Guess which I liked more: the movie about a guy raising penguins or the movie about a gay guy who falls in love in jail. Nobody liked the penguin movie, people like me who saw it just expected better. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 7:36:41 PM Oh join the club, whiny emo kid. I'd say at least 70% of all people hate that crap too. There's a lot to hate about society. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 5:28:32 PM I agree with the video but I'm not sick of it. I just ignore it. Focus instead on things that matter. Like AMD's 7000 series gpus. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 3:30:20 PM "It bothers me that he thinks he's the only person who doesn't like these things. " I don't think he believes he's the only one... Rather I think he is doing his passion- drawing and making cartoons- and sharing his thoughts in the belief that others feel similarly and can know that *they* are not alone. |
