Sunday, December 04, 2011 8:04:20 PM how about people stop bitching about animal testing (peta) and go and volunteer themselves for testing. this would spare the animals any harm, oh wait they wouldnt do that it would hurt them. soooo if they wont volunteer themselves in place of animals then they really dont care as much as they pretend to. anyway monkeys are awesome and therefore need to be inhumanly tested on because its funny and science. |

Saturday, December 03, 2011 1:25:32 PM "Whenever I hear criticism of animal testing, I think of this guy & what he did." Yeah, at least animal testing wasn't as bad as the Holocaust. |

Saturday, December 03, 2011 9:02:22 AM Yes @intrigid, but I'm saying to get "better" science would be worse, you follow? This is the best we can get, so use it. Don't b1tch & moan that it's not good enough. |

Friday, December 02, 2011 5:32:46 PM "Science, you're doing it wrong." You'd prefer experiments on humans? srsly PS: I am not intending to insult anyone, I'm pointing out how well the last time human experimentation went, m-kay? Whenever I hear criticism of animal testing, I think of this guy & what he did. |

Friday, December 02, 2011 10:26:56 AM vv Well it's true @patchy! This is a Skinner Box, the experiment conducted can lead to inferential knowledge about why humans behave. Plain as day, eh? |

Friday, December 02, 2011 8:04:47 AM This has already been done on humans. It's called prison. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 8:24:27 PM I love it. This is brilliant. But to go so far as to say we, as humans, can learn something from it may be pushing it. We have better communication for instance. except of course... Ah, so thats the reason people believe in god. Interesting! I'ma ponder this one s'more. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 8:11:48 PM Yup, that's the real reason for a LOT of human behaviours! And some IABers said "Skinner Boxes" weren't science... |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 7:43:49 PM I doubt this test. From what I know of monkeys, they don't have a strong cultural learning. They only mimic what others do if there's a reason to. They don't just do things because it's what they learned, because monkeys don't actually teach each other, they just copy each other. In fact, a monkey is more likely to not do something obviously pointless it was told to do than a human is. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 5:12:10 PM Yeah, it is called observational learning, and is the same thing that allows us to communicate with language. Why is that animal called a "dog" - I don't know, that's just what we call it, as we have for centuries. The answer was that monkeys in the past discovered that climbing the ladder harms the group, and the new monkeys learned to prevent ladder climbing without experiencing the harm for themselves. You know not to shoot yourself with a gun, even though you've never been actually shot, because you've heard stories about people getting shot, you know it makes them die or at least hurt really bad, and you catch on quickly. The monkeys catch on that climbing the ladder might hurt the group. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 3:52:52 PM "If you asked one of the monkeys why the beatings took place, the answer would probably be..." Ooh Ah Ah! I think I'm more correct than the video. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 3:30:05 PM Why should people continue to accept that half their earnings are stolen by the gov't? Same answer as the monkey, wake up. |

Thursday, December 01, 2011 1:40:59 PM Those that don't remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Unless, of course, there's an entity that controls things like in the vid. Which leaves me confused as to what the message was. |
