Wednesday, November 30, 2011 12:56:04 PM A poker game among friends is legal as long as only the players profit from it. If you host a game and take a cut from all the players winnings as the "house" it's illegal. FAQ -- Home Poker Law -- Home Poker Game Law Overview |

Wednesday, November 30, 2011 5:45:26 AM It's not illegal, in most places, to have a game of poker for money, as long as the "house" doesn't take a cut. In other words, if I host a poker party, and everyone pays in $20, but only gets $19 in chips, and I keep the $1, that's illegal. If everyone pays in $20, and gets $20, and the winners take home their winnings, that's legal. In most places. |

Wednesday, November 30, 2011 2:44:56 AM Buck176, Wow they got you fooled huh? It was the republican congress & George W Bush that away your right to play online poker. Your buddy Barney Frank who sadly is retiring has been trying to get it back for you. @Baelzar, Yeah truth hurts. |

Wednesday, November 30, 2011 12:16:20 AM Even rich people are allowed to be bored to death. He is just breaking a daily routine playing some poker. There's nothing immoral in that, it's his hard earned money and Jordan can do whatever he wants with it. @CrakrJak> how are you not judging someone by saying he is doing something immoral and sinful(WTF)? |

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 10:37:55 PM "You misspelled democrat. Republicans want less government. Democrats want more." Then...Republicans want government to stay out of the way of abortions, gay and polygamous marriage and immigration? I think your analysis is a little simple. |

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 9:20:54 PM vulture is correct, and who the hell really cares. I consider gambling morally sinful, but I'm not going to judge him. Besides there are so many places, besides Vegas and Atlantic City, these days where gambling is perfectly legal that it's rarely ever policed or prosecuted. |

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 8:33:49 PM As has been mentioned, it's only illegal if the house takes a cut of the pot. New York State has had numerous cases over the past few years with poker clubs (legal).... |
