Don't stick up for 5Cats on this one he is being an ass. He is trying to twist Madest's words around to seam like he was being homophobic which he wasn't. Madest was being funny. This is Madest's original comment, "I doubt you would lie down and take it like a trick at a Gerry1of1 summer pride party."

A trick in the gay world is someone who gets paid for sex or at least someone who is a slut. This had nothing to do with rape and everything to do with 5Cats projecting because he made a horrific racist comment about our President. Sure 5Cats used a link to make the implementation but it was still really bad. It takes a hell of a lot to offend me and I actually wanted him banned because of it.

@ I-IS-BORED
5Cats didn't say "if a person gives consent", he said "if a person forgives". Forgiveness doesn't turn non-consensual sex in to consensual sex. It's still rape.

it's just a walkway on their campus

It wasn't difficult before to see that he was just doing what he was told, but I hope this doesn't put an end to the pike memes floating around. What confuses me more is that they weren't even blocking anything in particular from what I could see, just sitting on the walkway. Granted I haven't cared enough to look into it, but what exactly were they blocking access to?

@5Cats
If a person gives consent it isn't rape.

The very person the original comment was made about thought it was funny.

@markust: if a rape victem forgives the rapist, it isn't rape anymore? I was offended and I called @madest of his latest in a LONG string of racist, sexist and homophobic comments. Oh, but that's OK because the targets of all those hateful things was right wing.
Do you have zero sense of humor or does everything in your life have to be a partisan fight?

I have a terrific sense of humour, thanks for asking! I lolz ALL the time! So much in fact it was suggested I cut down (and I have, honest!) here at IAB.
But that homosmack just isn't funny. Like racist or sexist "jokes" it should be pointed out as offensive, no matter who says it.

Please notice how a "right winger" is opposed to homosmack and the "leftists" are defending it.

@MAlb3d - The cops were actually given the order by the school's administration to remove the protesters, which is completely within the right of the administration to do. The protesters knew what they were getting into by staying in place.

@photomstr - THANK YOU. I hate how everyone has this view of cops as "evil". This is only because nobody wants to post a video of a cordial cop doing his job correctly, which happens 99.99% of the time. Cops snap because of poo like this. People protest and defy the police for the sake of doing so and to provoke a reaction. Asinine, all of them.

@photomstr - I'm not saying the point behind OWS is wrong, not at all, but you're right in the difference of style, it looks bad when people are in such an uproar about the police useing ANY kind of method other then doing nothing (they are ordered to do SOMETHING how else can they move people that don't want to be moved?) vs the other contries where people are being beaten, and even killed, to me by comparison it does make us look that way a little bit.

These protesters are lame . . . the people protesting for change of government in Syria, Egypt, Iran are willing to give their lives for what they believe in. All I see in 'merca is spoiled brats having a hissy fit!

@daverazor - Your right we don't have to click on it, but we still have to see it, there are currently eight ows posts on the main page of latest (some may be pushed to page two now but still, eight, three of which are about the SAME THING, people who post comments saying "re-post" don't have to either, but they do.

I believe this is the fifth post about the same scene. The one about the vet getting hit with a "flash grenade/rubber bullet/tear gas grenade"? Yeah four times, and each time he was hit with something different. So yes I am tired of seeing the same crap...Move on already.

Good lord 5Cats it was a joke. I would have laughed if it had been from the left or the right.

"Ah @Markust123, a fine example of "liberal double standard" there chum!
iirc, you've pounced on the smallest mis-speaking of right wingers with a vengance, but if @madest openly uses homosmack, that's OK?
Nice!"

Did you actually watch this video? They aren't just 'sitting'. They are locking arms so the police can't remove them and circling the police to trap them in.

@daverazor
"This is a massive historical social movement where people are actually standing up for what they believe is right (for once)"

How are a bunch of spoiled-ass white kids camping on streets, littering, and doing drugs 'standing up for what they believe is right'.

The underground railroad and slave revolts were people standing up for what is right. Charity groups stand up for what is right. OWS is mostly a bunch of hipsters who don't want to put forth any effort into anything and enjoy 'fighting the corporations' while drinking starbucks coffee and smoking big tobacco company cigarettes.

This makes it much worse. The premeditation involved before the cops decided to abuse these people is incredible! All that time explaining how they were going to revoke these kids first amendment rights could have been used trying to stand each one up and move them first. Nope, instead, let's be lazy cops and just use force. And this was during the day too. There's no law against students sitting in a campus quad during the day. The legal way would have been to do this at night, when camping is not permitted. During the day though, these kids were just students sitting on the lawn. What a great direction this country is moving in. And why aren't Black Friday campers being pepper sprayed by the cops? Oh that's right, because they're contributing to the consumerism that rules this country.

Are you people really complaining about OWS? More disturbing is that anybody would complain about posts of it on an absurdest website. Don't like it don't click it. This is a massive historical social movement where people are actually standing up for what they believe is right (for once) and some people on here are complaining that OWS is filling up the feed on a website? We are doomed.

Didn't change my mind at all...protestors were blocking a public thoroughfare, were warned multiple times, then soundly pepper-sprayed. No one to blame here but the stupidity of the fools who took the spray.

Nope, didn't change my mind. I still think these people need to get a life and go home already. Also, I am so tired of reading about OWS and watching news about it...

@trudenter - I've been hoping for ONE WEEK with out a stupid OWS related post....Can't even make it two days, people are incapable of letting things go, especialy on this site.

It almost seems forced (as most of the posts are from the mod's) personally, I hope OWS gets shut down quick just for the sake of being able to browse this site again without seeing "police do this" or "OWS blah blah blah" every other post, every single day.

What's sad is that this guy was doing his job and well too, he warned each one face to face, made sure they knew what was going to happen, and wasn't yelling it to them either, but thanks to whiners and the internet, he'll probably lose his job and over something that it's actually pretty stupid.

Everyday people are tased, everyday people are maced, everyday people are arrested an no one cares, do it to some one when a camera is around and it's "OMG HE'S ABUSING HIS POWER THE POLICE ARE CORRUPT"

if they refused to move then the police are entirely justified on using pepper spray. if they had to physically move them, which was the other option, then the police would have been putting themselves in danger.
would you all have preferred to see the police use physical force, maybe crack a few skulls with batons?

Peaceful protest? They surrounded the officers not giving them a single way to escape. Sounds pretty hostile to me.

@patticakes
They deserve to be expelled from school as well. Since when is this kind of crap acceptable behavior for a student? If they're going to disrupt the education process and hurt their school's image, then they don't deserve to be students there.
