For the first time this May a Gallup poll showed a majority (53%) of American's favor legal gay marriage. That is a 9% swing in one year. I believe we are one to two years away from it being socially unacceptable for a church to spout anti-gay rhetoric. Love and tolerance has won.

@davymid - "I don't know of anyone who wants a polygamous marriage outside of weird religious cults. "

Maybe it's not common, but there are relationships with more than 2 people involved, that aren't part of a cult, where everyone in the relationship loves each other. I knew someone in a mfm relationship and at the time I didn't really support it but I see how it can work now. I wouldn't even mind being in a mfm relationship myself as long as everyone involved loved each other (which is why I don't say fmf, because I'm straight and can't really see myself loving a woman in that way). Any more than 3 kinda seems like too much to me but everyone's different. I'm fighting for gay rights first but I hope people eventually start becoming more accepting of mutual love, polyamorous relationships, because they're not all just 1 guy brainwashing 20 women.

@davymid then clearly you don't know the S&M subculture, the "free love" subculture or the "swingers" subculture. Also a former head of the NOW lived in a 3-way (fmf) relationship while she was boss, so I'm guessing those feminists were brainwashed too?
There are plenty of people who'd want and support multiple partner marriages, not a majority for certain, but that's not the issiue, is it?

Just because MY kink is less "popular" than YOUR kink doesn't make it any less justified.

@myrikal If homsexuality were unnatural, it wouldn't occur naturally in so many animals. It's no different from discriminating for any other trait or preference a person might have, or for some common mental condition. It's hard to argue that there's any harm or danger in it. It may be gross to watch, but that's about it.

It's so cute the way the bigots are clinging to the "it's unnatural" claim, despite it having excisted since ... well earliest records are Greek and Roman practises I believe. And they struggle real hard to ignore homosexual animals. And stop callin my favorite Gerry unnatural!

Go watch some CK Lewis and mellow out, it helps

That's fine pro gay marriage folks. You keep on pouring that syrup on sh*t and keep calling it pancakes. No cute commercial will change that homosexuality is unnatural. Sorry.

Dear homosexuals,

I am not one of you, but I feel your pain. You're just going through the same thing that black people went through decades ago. Your time will come, just have patience. The Bible is (thankfully) on it's way out of modern 21st century society.

I think both those guys should marry the girl at 1:03, and all live happily ever after!
What? That's illegal? Well end the descrimination now!!!

I don't know of anyone who wants a polygamous marriage outside of weird religious cults. And the women in those cults are likely conditioned to think it's what they want. Contrast that with the estimated 10% of our population who are homosexual. That's millions of people, who should have the same rights as the rest.

And the only reason, the ONLY reason they're being oppressed is because of religious conservative bigotry. I can honestly see no other cause why a person who loves another person in a consentual relationship should not be allowed to marry. The same as the rest of us.

That was really cute. I think my state (Washington) is going to be the next to amend the marriage law to include same sex couples. It's about damn time.

@insane_ai: It's Time. To stop thinking marriage is only between a man and a woman. Just like it was time to stop thinking marriage was only between a male and a female of the same race back in the 1950's.

I don't see how legalizing it would ake anything away from heterosexuals. Honestly, gay couples already live together across the world, I don't see how hem being able to get married would affect anyone besides making them happy/ their kids/ family happy.

Well, you know what happened when they legalized gay marriage in Canada, don't you? Now as well as gay couples, they have gay married couples going around. Yeah. Food for thought.

It's time.
To stop caring so much about things that don't concern you.
Get your own brain.
Marriage is between people that eventually want to feel miserable.

I want to see a graphic of how long Heterosexual marriage can last Vs. Homosexual marriages
