Selous is right Solvent, Britain's government long ago took away the right of their people to defend themselves.
Are you trying to be the stereotype of an parochial American proudly parading their ignorance of other countries?
People in the UK have a right to defend themselves and others using whatever degree of force is required, up to and including killing people. The right also extends to stopping any crime in progress at the time, though a lesser degree of force would be considered reasonable when chasing and bringing down a fleeing criminal.
In modern times, this has even been extended to cover completely unreasonable and excessive use of force as a form of revenge, i.e. hunting people down and trying to beat them to death with clubs.
And it still isn't enough for the blood-crazed psycho liars who say that there's no right to self-defence in the UK. |

bataleon, I disagree.
If they both had guns, it would have ended up as one giant pissing contest.
They would just stand there making threats to each other while nothing else happened.
You'd have to be one sick MotherF'er to actually shoot someone willingly.
Remember the Cold War?
That's what would have happened if they both had guns. A whole lot of tension and then basically nothing.
Guns are like nuclear arms; you have them so you don't have to use them.
If the robber had a gun only, the shopkeep would've complied.

All shopkeeps should have bazookas to defend against assailants armed with machine guns, which they used to combat previous shopkeeps armed with merely handguns.
Beyond this the cost of the weapon is the bottleneck, which is as it should be in a perfect capitalism. |
