It's about the balance. US has protests, alienation of goverment from it's peoples, poverty etc. It looks like there is at least a possibility of somekind of revolution, not that it would actually happen. Just a threat that status quo might shift and the expansionistic US policy of trying to take over the world, they need to reply. It's good that they did it soon.
Allready the fact that US citizens have a great comfort to can say things like "so what, we'll crush anybody" is an alarm to every other nation that wants to stay independent. This has gone on for millenia or two, nothing new it's just the names that change. |

The ruskies can target anything they like . . . big wooptie do. Not much threat there as they would anyway. But by the amount of failures in their space program I believe they don't have many working missiles remaining . . . nothing to see here folks go back to your pathetic memes. |

russia really wants too get its ass handed to it that badly then let them do something as stupid as attack an american military target. the USSR was never actually as badass as it pretended to be and current day russia with its unholy outdated and broken down military would last all of about 3 seconds in a war with the US.

Not like we dont have laser satellites in space to take out a few missiles anyway. Sure, china said we cant do that, but does anybody really think we listened? Also, we also told china we'd pay them back, but come on i think we all know that is not going to happen. I apologize for my terrible sentence structure. |

Look at the projected expansion of NATO in the next couple of years and the fact that the shield renders the deterrent capability of THEIR strategic missiles basically nill. Combine that with the Bush Doctrine and and neo-con messianism and you can see why Russia gets a little nervous about a missile "shield" in their backyard. If the roles were reversed we certainly wouldn't allow the Russians to set one up in Latin America. |

Guaranteed we'd respond the same way if the situation was reversed. In the end, it's dumb because we have nothing to gain from attacking Russia so they have no need to be worried, but if SHIELD goes through, they have no way to retaliate if we did attack them which is reason for concern. |
