Clearly this dumb bitch has never been sprayed. I got some in my eye on accident once, it was f*cking horrible!

PoopNoodle Got my comment on this video perfect already.

"We don't have the right to play Monday morning quarterback to police"

Of course we have that right. Questioning people in authority is not only our right but our obligation as Americans.

um... the kids were sitting in a row - this is not a threat. not in anyway. unarmed students, surrounded by guys with guns and battle gear on - that's a threat. passive resistance, i guess gandi would be pepper sprayed too.

they are right, they did not react like they were sprayed, even though it looked like he was spraying weeds. that being said, let's spray them and see how they react. it is just a vegetable product, should be good in eyes and salad.

i also find it hard to believe that first you mace someone, then you arrest them? how is this better? now they are convulsing, puking, and covered in liquid that's transferable. all excuses.

The reason people blow it out of proportion, is that if you have never had it used on you, then you are unprepared for the feeling, and the brain makes you panic. That panic is what causes the most damage, because you don't know how to cope.

You're telling me that the police are aware that pepper spray causes people (who are just sitting still on the ground) to panic... and you think this is a good idea in a crowd control situation? Deliberately inducing panic which "causes the most damage"?

The stupid in this video burns more than pepper spray.

Right to assembly is one thing, blocking walkways, sidewalks, and driveways are quite another.

Where then would you suggest people exercise their right to assembly other than public places?

The only place I can think of in a city where a large number of people could exercise their (Constitutional and UDHR) right to assembly where they wouldn't be blocking walkways, sidewalks and driveways would be a park. And we saw what happened to people who did that in Zuccotti Park.

It sounds like Fox is being an "sympathetic" as they're capable of. O'Rielly could have gone all out on this, but instead they seemed to be relatively understanding. They weren't putting out the full Fox News disinformation blitz.

It's not great, but I think it's a step in the right direction for Fox News.

FOX would have defended the Kent State killings if it had been on the air back then.

I would like an opportunity to take up CrakrJak's offer. Could you please have the police pepper spray the conservatives that are obstructing our local abortion clinic? I promise, I will express my outrage toward the police action against them.

Naga Jolokia is a natural hybrid, at 1M scoville or there abouts its used in some pepper sprays. If you've ever rubbed your eyes after eating some you can imagine how much pepper spray hurts.
As for how the scoville scale works - 2M will not hurt worse than 1M - it just takes twice as long to dilute it out. Ghost peppers don't hurt 3 times as bad as scotch bonnets, they just take three times as much dilution to get rid of the intense burning.

As for the 'it is only pain' comments - erm, that's what you shouldn't be inflicting on people without good cause innit?

I wonder if you liberals out there would be defending conservatives 'right to assembly' if they were blocking the entrances to abortion clinics ? I seriously doubt you would.

" Pepper Spray or OC Spray is not excessive force. I've been sprayed for training purposes. That is a direct spray to the eyes without turning away. Most people don't get a direct hit. Yes it burns, it's pepper. But it does not cause actual harm. The reason people blow it out of proportion, is that if you have never had it used on you, then you are unprepared for the feeling, and the brain makes you panic. That panic is what causes the most damage, because you don't know how to cope. Police, to use the spray, must have it used on them, so they know how it feels and works, and if they change formulas, then they have to re-test. Once you realize it won't actually kill you, then it is just pain from pepper. "

Yes it can cause great harm and yes it does kill people. Pepper spray besides the burning effect neutralizes a target by inflaming the throat muscles and some times leads to suffocation. If a blast of it is taken deeply into the lung, bleeding scaring and blisteri

Way to bring the liberals in to this Bill O'Rielly.......what the hell does it matter if it's a liberal campus.....the point of this is that there is a right to assembly, the kids were peaceful the only reason the police did anything is because the chancellor thought they were annoying.....there was absolutely NO REASON for pepper spray or force to be used

@skine

Well I'll just make a crack form of ghost chilli so it'll be 5,000,000 scoville units. It'll have two settings one for food and one for crowds. THE FUTURE IS HERE CROWD CONTROL CONDIMENTS!!

Pepper spray is not the issue. The issue is the right of the people to assemble is being taken away. They are trying to send you a message dont come down and protest dont voice your opinion. Yes pepper spray is not the end of the world but we need to fight for our rights wether you agree with the ows message or not fight for their right to say it. This is what news should cover why is our voice being silenced all over the nation? If it was a rally to reelect obama or elect cain just as peaceful same scenario would they be pepper spraying people?

Yes. Pepper spray is a food product, pizza is a vegetable- and exporting jobs, allowing billion dollar corporations to pay next to nothing in taxes and permitting criminals to manipulate the financial industry is sound economic policy.
More and more, I feel as if I've somehow entered a Fellini film.

I've been pepper sprayed in the attempt to grab my dog from the bed of a truck while cops were worried she was going to jump out at them before.

Yes it sucks; yes i had it in my eyes; yes i felt like poo and had to get in a cold shower for 30minutes to even start feeling better but even with that not being intentional to me I didn't complain. Yea it sucks but I didn't say, "OMG EXCESSIVE FORCE"

The Headwaters case showed police assault NOT for using pepper spray, but in the way it was dispensed...in full bursts from 1 inch range, and with a q-tip directly to the eyes...please, before you go citing cases...do some research...or you sound stupid.

I hate all the news channels; I prefer to just read the paper and come up with my own opinions.
