Wednesday, December 01, 2004 3:06:35 PM This takes me back to the cheesy 1970s shows of my youth. Nothing like that "space out" music at the beginning of Shatner's sing-talk to remind you of how bad TV was then. I especially like the way this video shows the "3 Shatners". I can't decide which one is most 1970's though: 1) Shatner smoking a joint 2) Shatner standing and looking solemnly stoned, or 3) lounge lizard Shatner with bowtie undone. I guess his thought his little hip wiggle groove thang was dead sexy at the time... |

Monday, November 29, 2004 3:13:48 AM I remember howling with delight when I saw Stewie re-enact this beautifully odd performance on "Family Guy", but at the same time I wondered: Does anyone under the age of 30 get this? It's funny how people who never saw Shatner's "Rocketman" were still so incredibly amused by Stewie's rendition, without knowing where it came from. I also like Bernie Taupin's introduction of Shatner. He looks like some sort of disco alien who was asked to be a presenter at the Sci-Fi Awards. |

Wednesday, November 17, 2004 1:00:34 AM Oh yet another horror of the 70's come back to haunt us. Thanks for that link, I had almost gotten that image out of my mind. That will be there another few decades taking up space. Thank Buddah that huge bow ties and ruffled dress shirts went out with the 80's.^ I agree. I love Stewie's version of Shatner doing "Rocket Man" |
