Thursday, November 17, 2011 10:13:21 AM Just a few days ago, I found out that gamestop bought the rights to the Assassin's Creed Revelation special edition. I was most distressed because I had fruitfully bought my games at Best Buy where they were cheaper and got better service. Reluctant, I went down to the local EB Games (the once-wonderful gamestore that gamespot bought and whorified) to discreetly purchase and GTFO. After waiting for the clerk to stop talking to a guy about the new Soul Caliber game, I asked if they had any special editions of Assassin's Creed. Turns out I couldn't buy one unless I pre-ordered the standard edition. My reaction was close to the one in the video. |

Wednesday, November 16, 2011 8:04:10 PM I used to love gamestop, like 5 years ago. Now I just go to walmart to buy the damn thing. In and out in 5 minutes. |

Wednesday, November 16, 2011 6:08:31 PM I always get dragged into an really long and unintended conversation about what cool game the cashier just played. My responses of "Uh huh." "Right." "I didn't play that." aren't enough to get me out of there. |

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 9:34:22 AM If I'm done with a game, I just post it on craigslist for a little less then what Gamestop is selling it for. Works every time. |

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 9:19:24 AM this thread is hilarious all the people bitching about gamestop, grow up. I mean, seriously, the number of 30-39 individuals in this thread is just sad (even a 40-49) codejockey takes the cake though "Do you have a Best Buy Reward Zone card?" oh look, an adult, I bet he was buying an action movie or television set This is the third store I've visited today for this anime. anime did you all lose your way? >>>/4chan/ I figured you would all get along with the neckbeards at gamestop since you're so much like them, but I forgot one key aspect, you aren't social people. you may THINK you're social because you talk to "people" on the internet, but in fact, you lack the self-esteem to carry on a conversation with someone face to face |

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 6:46:46 AM hey darkmagic, Fvuck off you steroetyping douchnozzle. You seem to think that once you are put within an age bracket that people should stop having one type of fun andd start having another? Damn dude, tell your mom next time, shes heavy trying to hold her up for a kegstand. Way to attempt to meet the status Quo 1% |

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 6:44:56 AM Ive shopped at gamestop for over 8 years, absolutly enjoy the stop every time. They always find me the best deals, the nest ways to trade in games for the most money, and how to even get free games. They do not ask me the redundant questions anymore because they already know what I am there for. More than a few times ive walked into the store, just walked up to the counter and swiped my card, no words said, ive been handed the game that I came there for and walked out. Obviously this only works with Day-Of releases but still. Gamestop IMO is one of the best combo companies ever. |

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 3:21:31 AM STOP STEALING SCENES FROM MY LIFE!!! Clerk: "Do you have a Best Buy Reward Zone card?" Code: "No-thank-you..." Clerk: "If you sign up now, you can..." Code: "I said 'no-thank-you!' This is the third store I've visited today for this anime. I love you but, I just want to pay and leave." Clerk: "I need your Zipcode." Code: "No, you do not. If you actually think you do, it's because you've never tested it. You are thinking that I am being mean. I am not. I just don't like spam and junk mail. If you think about what you've told to say, you'll see that you are following a script designed to not allow a person the opportunity to decline. THAT is rude." Clerk: "...Yeah..." ...And I never told anyone to choke on semen... ...at least not a game store... |

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 3:14:22 AM If you don't like Gamestop, then just don't go to Gamestop. There are tons of other places to buy games.

Monday, November 14, 2011 11:13:16 PM I worked at a Family Video my senior year of high school and the summer before college. We get in trouble if we don't try to push "deals"(sales) on people. It sucked. |

Monday, November 14, 2011 10:54:49 PM "What they do in this video, them playing new games and resealing them and selling them as new, and stealing all the preorder bonuses and telling you to come in the next day because the game is not released today when it is..." Yes employees are allowed to "borrow" games like a library, but with a few caveats. They have to borrow the used version if able, and they can't borrow a new release. They dont unseal games just to borrow either, they have display copies already unsealed of every game on the shelf, that copy only gets sold if it's the last one left. As for not knowing a game is out, that comes from gamestops policy of seasonal hiring. Which is summed up by "Are your a girl?" or "Can you speak english?" Most of the year, the store is competent. You ARE however totally right about that preorder thing, that scandal was pretty drated up. |

Monday, November 14, 2011 10:44:39 PM I use to work at a Gamestop. I think we had it right. We only did that product pushing crap to people that looked like casual gamers. (and trust me they were easy to identify) The real gamers we just let them buy their poo and leave... unless the district manager was visiting. |

Monday, November 14, 2011 9:16:07 PM DesertDustX, Taking advantage of downloadable games has nothing to do with social skills. Unless of course you are such a dipsh*t that socializing with cashiers at stores you buy stuff from counts. I know a few console addicts that are WAY worse off than what you described in your post. Also, why are people so up on what other people do with their lives? Who gives a sh*t. |

Monday, November 14, 2011 8:56:50 PM yeah but tell you what. go and sell like two games that have anything to do with mario, you're walking out of there with close to forty bucks. that was a once in a life time gamestop experience. |
