McGrendel - What my point is, is that he is a public servant and he is being filmed. He is representative of his police department because of that, and should show some restraint and self control. And maturity. If the person deserved to be tazed, it would have been done in the police officers self defense during a struggle, otherwise who is he or you to say what this person deserves? Do you know all the facts of what is going on? And he gets paid to go out there and do his job, which is what he is doing. He doesn't get paid to pass judgement or impose punishments. He can think it all he wants, but if he ever does it, it may be you or someone you love he does it to. Then let's see what you have to say then... |

@illios I am good friends with the man who does non-lethal weapons training for officers in TN and VA. In the U.S. at least officers do NOT have to get tazed to be certified. One or two volunteers get tazed and the trainees watch and take notes.
In fact they specifically tell you not to taze old or obese people who look like they may have heart problems, unless no other cause of action is available, b/c the shock may accidentally kill them. |

@TKD_Master : I don't know where you get th generalization "every cop gets tasered". At least in my area, most departments have a "No Tazer" policy in terms of using it on officers - ie you don't have to get tazered to carry a tazer, and you CANNOT use your tazer on your fellow officers. |

Getting tazed hurts like hell...for the few seconds it's actually happening, after which you feel fine it's not a long lasting effect, it's not going cause any damage, and every single police officer who carries one is tazed in training, so they know how it feels too, get over it. |
