except, gays can enter into domestic partnerships and get the same benefits as married couples. the only thing domestic partnerships don't have is divorce and thus no messy paperwork and no need for prenubs
Uhm... no. For one, domestic partnerships don't exist everywhere in the US. For another, there are well over 1,000 benefits at the federal level that gay couples have no access to, even in the few states that do allow gay marriage, thanks to DOMA. |

@cyborg- it makes perfect sense when you consider that the primary argument against gay marriage is that it destroys the "sanctity of marriage." If a person is so concerned about the sanctity of marriage, shouldn't they be far more concerned about divorce than gay people wanting to get married?

It would be like your parents saying you can't have a car, then giving one to your older sibling who promptly totals it.
change it to younger sibling then add in the fact that they bought 2 more cars that were both totaled, and I would have first hand experience in said situation. |

ok new law proposal. Legalize gay marriage. Ban marriage for any person/couple making over $250K/yr. Nobody's benefiting except the lawyers. Take the money that the stupid, I mean richer people would spend and feed the kids in florida, or new york, or ohio. |
