contact animal control. tranquilizer dart.

done.

Doesnt matter if the cow was on

was one idea, then what, get a $1000hr animal control vehicle to come over and gently pickup the animal, restrain him, deliver him back to the farm, then chop off his head and make lunch, or just kill him, chop him up and stick him in the back of the pickup.

It's a cow! Some people dont realize where hamburger comes from. If your gonna eat meat, realize that that burger didnt just come from the magic burger place. It's cow. 2nd point, have you ever seen what a mother deer will do to someone or thing when they are threatened. They STOMP it into dust, till it moves no more. Now, add about 1 ton behind that with an angry, confused hoofed beast roaming. That was no pet ladies and gentlemen. That was lunch.

Also if you look close, the first shot was right behind the front leg at the knee, this is the correct shot, in the heart, but it's a big animal with lots of blood. He was dead after the first shot, but still dangerous till he went down.

I think you're missing the point. I don't really think that "sadistic pleasure" is the reason for criticism. More like incompetence. If this is the kind of reasoning skills our law enforcement uses, then I, for one, don't think that says to much for our "protectors." Additionally, that was a cow. Not a bull. Cows, unlike bulls, are not aggressive. They do a lot of running, not so much attacking. Anyone with half a brain and a few hours on their hands can corral a f*ucking cow with little to no collateral damage. Like I said, these cops are f*ucking dumb.

These police need to be prosecuted for the shooting death of a young cow.

If a civilian was filmed shooting a calf, people from all over would be screaming for justice,,,why is it that these police are able to commit a heinous act of animal cruelty and go unpunished. Even if the cow was sick or injured, it should be put down humanely, and not used as target practice by a policeman that obviously needs more time on the gun range. These people need to be identified and punished in accordance to the strictest laws available.

a bit early to start shooting, but a loose bull in a neighborhood isn't good, or it isn't going to end well.. we had the same discussion here in norway when alot of moose would hand out in neighborhoods.. alot of people mainly the "aaaw so cute" generation was against it.. but sure enough a 5year old girl was nearly killed and then they startded to shoot moose's who staid into towns.. aaaand over here hand guns isent used to put down big game ;p

first of all , its prob not evn police duty to catch cow, its like animal control

2nd of all, u want one clean shot to the head, not a whole bunch of shots on its body

3rd of all, putting the siren on is not going to help

It gives me great joy to say something I rarely get to say on here. That was exceptionally what said 2L82Pray, and I couldn't possibly agree with you more.

Killing a cow is one thing. I eat cows. I ate one today. However, pumping 9 mm rounds into an animal this large is nothing short of cruelty. The first round wouldn't have put it down. Or the 2nd or 5th. So shooting it continuously was causing unnecessary pain and suffering. We put an animal out of it's misery--we don't deliberately cause that misery. And regardless of reasons or "the full story" that is what these officers did. They caused more pain and suffering to an animal that didn't deserve it. That is animal cruelty and should be punished.

bullets that police use have a tough time killing 200 pound people unless you hit the right spot. yeah lets drating unload them into a bull. thats gonna work really fast and painless. if it had to be killed you tranquilize it and kill it in its sleep.

GET OVER IT!! call me jaded, but its just a damn cow. obviously some mistakes were made, the situation could have been handled better (i.e. placing a better shot, killing the sirens, etc) but still, I don't think these cops did it for the sadistic pleasure.

Problem is they run straight down the middle of the goddamn road and then a car swerves to avoid it, winds up in a ditch or flips or something - now somebody's wife or kid is dead. Tough sh*t, but Goodbye, Cow.

Why do cops even have guns!? It seems to me like the level of self-selection into that industry should be evident enough that they should be the least likely people on the planet to have weapons of force. I can't decide who I cry for more...the poor scared bull or the people who have to bumble through life thinking that what these cops did was the best option.

**doesnt matter if the cow was on its way to the slaughter house. The police are not butchers. Their job was to keep the public safe. The owner giving the police permission to put it down was not the owners right to give either. If that same owner decided he wanted to kill a cow by shooting it to death he would go to jail - even if the cow belonged to him.

Seriously, you people who are picking on the cops absolutely disgust me,you have no appreciation for the crap they have to deal with. Do you HONESTLY think they enjoyed doing this??!! You seriously are idiots if you believe so. You keyboard warriors would not have the guts to do this job for a day. Grow up, and shut up.

I love all the people on here that don't know the full story any and act as judge and jury. have any of you been ran over by a charging 1600 lbs animal. How do you know that this cow was not asked to be just put down by the owner? how do you know if the cow did not have some short of disease and it needed to be killed. Stop judging you bunch of keyboard cowboys; I challenge anyone of you do do something different if put in there shoes

Holy poo, a cow on a rural road?

Better pump ten rounds into it before it eats some of this wild grass or something.
