@ Kitteh: I was banned once under bullsh*t circumstances... For some mods here, IAB is their own little personal fiefdom.
I'm not going to get into an argument with a mod... especially one with favored status, that's just a losing proposition for a mere user like myself.
I consider the subject closed. |

I do have a question and a comment:

You and other mods seem to have plenty of time to search other sites for content yet ignore the submissions to this site, so why should we even bother to spend our time submitting content if the mods won't even support the system?
Simple answer would be that mods shouldn't be allowed to submit content. Obviously you have more than enough submissions to support the site as you can't even look at all of them. |

I was not attempting to be sarcastic, merely truthful. You said you submit to other sites so perhaps you did submit this somewhere else. I was just saying it may have been yours.
You on the other hand are being sarcastic, hateful, and condescending. In every comment. You accuse without evidence or investigation. I offered to show you the link and you don't attempt to even look, or talk to me directly.
I never mentioned banning you. I have no reason to. I just wish you could see what you said in your previous remarks were inflammatory, mean and unnecessary.

Banned? Yeah, that'll do a lot. The last mod that got butthurt and gave me a B.S. ban had it reversed by Fancy in less than two hours.
I don't commit "ban-worthy" offenses on IAB and never have. If I get banned, it's because Kitteh didn't like getting called out. (kinda like my go-around with maddog a couple of years ago). I'm going to assume that she's not as vindictive as he is... we'll see.

Snarky sarcasm fail. Good attempt though. Unfortunately your "explanation" doesn't hold any water.
It's a moot point. I already said I will no longer submit, but I will continue to comment on posted comment whenever I please. |

I did not and have not ever 'hijacked' your submissions or anyone else's for that matter.
I found it on another site and hijacked it from that site hyphen and all. If you write to me I will give you the link so you can see for yourself. (my email is on my profile)
I looked at submissions and yes you have submitted this link...with a DIFFERENT but similar title: Father Of The Year - Halloween Style
Your submission was buried in the tons we get...it wasn't noticed...we don't view every submission when so many come in everyday. We try but sometimes some slip through.
So no hijacking took place, you just got missed, and I saw it someplace, thought it was cute, (which it is) and posted it. No harm was meant.
You may have submitted it to the other site I got it from...since you submit everywhere. |

No "Occupation" of IAB Headquarters is necessary.
I would have assumed that Kitteh had found the pic first and posted it. No harm, no foul.
I always make it a point to make my "headlines" slightly different than regular ones... In this case, instead of "Father Of The Year Candidate (insert # here)", I specifically mentioned Halloween, and I have a habit of using hyphens where they really aren't necessary.
If she hadn't hijacked the headline too, I never would have noticed that she was taking credit for my submission.
There are other sites I submit the same content to. Kitteh can just go to those sites and get it all from there... I use the same screen name and avatar on all of them, so it should be pretty easy to cherry pick. It will also save me the trouble of bothering to submit it here. |

Yeah I've had posts hijacked but I've also been credited for posts that I had nothing to do with, so i just assumed the whole system is a bit glitchy. |

I stopped submitting content months ago, there's no point. I mean I can understand with something like an upcoming meme where a lot of people will be sharing it, but even if it's a really obscure youtube video with like 100 views, a mod will always 'happen to have submitted it first'. Guess there's no point in getting annoyed, at least the content makes it to the front page (which is more than can be said for a lot of good submissions) but it just seems... petty.
Nothing worth getting worked up over, but just thought I'd add my two cents. |

@ elkingo, onyxSATVIL, and xCYBERDYNEx: I pretty much dismissed the claims others have been making for years, because it never happened to me. I assumed that so many people submitted the same content that the first one was the one that got posted, proper credit was given to the submitter, and that was that.
I'm a little disappointed that a mod here would engage in the exact behavior I have defended them against here in the forum... Makes me look like a complete ass... I won't ever back them, or Fancy up on this issue again.
I wonder how much content Kitteh actually finds on her own, and how much she just takes credit for. |
