Saturday, October 29, 2011 4:50:22 AM Gerry1of1. The big problem is that Illinois increased business taxes here and all the companies that can afford it are bailing. Increase business taxes, then give it back to your corporate supporters as state income tax. |

CrakrJak - Good point. But show me a big business that does support Repubicans. Oil of course, Banks and Brokerage Firms. But this isn't about party affiliation, it's about jobs. GE paid zero corporate tax last year and declared record profits...all bonuses for the CEO's while the jobs they created were all in India. I would rather see state income tax used to support a job here than Obama's bail out that did zip for jobs. As bad as this plan is, until something better comes along, I'd go with it. |

Friday, October 28, 2011 7:15:20 PM Gerry: The problem is, these tax breaks are only being given to the big corporations that are big democrat campaign donors. If your going to do something like that, do it across the board, not for campaign donation kickbacks. The way it is now is not only unethical, it's illegal. Small businesses employ more people now than big corporations, the individual worker should benefit at least partially, and the kickbacks should end. |

CrakrJak - seriously, I've decided I'm for it. The repulicans have granted tax incentives successfully to business in the form of no-tax for years. Parry did it in Texas to get people to start businesses and it worked. Why not give a tax incentive that is linked to a job? No job-not tax break. Just "no-tax" is a bonus in a CEO's pocket and no one got hired. Look at it this way, my state income tax could go to some lame ass, leberall headed program of which I do not approve... or it could go to my keeping my job. Makes more sense when you look at it like that. |

Friday, October 28, 2011 3:07:33 PM Gerry: You're kidding right ? The democrats has been enlisting both the dead the underage on absentee ballots for many decades now, especially in the big cities. Hell they've even been caught signing up dogs to vote! |

The more I think about this, the more I like the idea. Many states offer tax incentives to businesses to move there, why not offer one to stay if they were closing down? At least in this case, the tax incentive is directly linked to jobs instead of just getting pocketed by some CEO as a bonus. |

Crakr - AT LAST! An anti-democrat topic after all of these pro-poor people OWS threads. You must have been really backed up. I enjoyed your post. After the 2000 and 2004 elections, I find it funny when a republican complains about cheating on a vote. |

Friday, October 28, 2011 8:51:50 AM Yeah, Illinois, In particular Chicago, is corrupt as all hell. Btw, Illinois is ran by the Chicago democrat machine. Last year the only county that voted, a majority, for the incumbent democrat governor was Cook County and he still won ?! They caught ACORN and other democrat groups forging absentee ballots, just convicted another corrupt governor, and now they are letting big corporations off without paying employee taxes. It's no wonder Illinois is such deep debt and I'm betting these democrat politicians are getting campaign contribution kickbacks from these same corporations. |

I'm past right and wrong. It's about survival. Pay a tax to my employer (kick back) to keep my job, or pay a tax to the state who gives it in welfare services to illegal aliens who take my job? I'll go with the employer. Right and Wrong don't enter into it, it's about which one screws me less. |

Friday, October 28, 2011 8:15:45 AM Then move to a state with no state taxes. Problem solved, you are now responsible for your own unhappiness. |

Friday, October 28, 2011 7:55:29 AM This is just ridiculous. Totally unethical. Lower taxes for ALL businesses if you want them to stay. But taxing the workers and then giving it to the biggest buisnesses?! sigh* ObamaLite here.
